| Good effort again but our execution was poor at times and it cost us. A few too many errors that gifted Wire possession and points. We needed to play close to our best to get a result today, but it just didn't quite happen unfortunately.
Had to chuckle at the Wigan fans leaving early though...

| Quote ="jockabull"Agreed, thought Child made the right call. No penalty and on report. Of more concern will be how the panel view it, I don't think it warrants a ban but you never know how they'll see it!'"
This is, for me, exactly what on report is for.
Player potentially injured, ref unsure what has gone on, looked aggressive. On report.
It was never a penalty, and shouldn't be a ban but a letter of warning is justified, as Bateman has dropped on Hodgsons head as his neck was bent and it could have been nasty.
End of.

| A few observations from todays game;
Warrington are not a special side, they're a waining force that we could and perhaps should have beaten today
Shaun Ainscough can't finish, try diving for the line instead of getting a nose bleed when the line beckons and forces you to run the other way - Watch the tape of todays game for some finishing tips from Joel Monaghan
Luke Gale looks like he could be the answer at 7 for a long time to come
Bryn Hargreaves is human and has been one of our best players this year, so give him a break for that mistake (game breaker though)
Why are we playing without a recognised full back when we have a number of options at the club including a special kid called Curt Naughton in the juniors
John Bateman is looking at another ban for that tackle on Hodgson, needs to cut out the silly stuff.
Jamie Langley is having his best season in a Bulls jersey, even off loading!
We need to resign Elima, Hargreaves, Kopczack, and Manukofosa for next year our pack is starting to look a bit tasty
I'm growing more confident we'll finish in the play offs this year (if we survive that is!)
That is all, thank you
Jamie Child is not fit to referee top flight rugby league

Solid? He doesn't run for the line when he has the ball and dives for the ground when anyone comes within 10 yards of him. His biggest nightmare is having the ball fall into his hands and he has to try and do something about it. Strange how some players get away with being poor and others don't! Hargreaves makes a mistake despite being solid most of the season and gets slated.
I'd replace pryce not ainscough. Platt is poor anyway!

Agree. If he'd have gone for the line he wouldn't have made it and then been accused of being greedy with the ball and should have passed!
Think all the team should be proud of their efforts. Well done to them all for the effort they put in against a team as hard as Warrington.

| Does anyone know how Elliot Kear is getting along? He was injured around the same time as Gale if I remember, and supposedly out of action for the same length of time. There's been no mention of how his recovery was going though.
I think, at the minute, we are only a few players short of our best 17. Get Kearney, Sammut and either Crookes or Kear back in the side and we're looking good.

No it wasn't, hence why he made the correct decision to not lose possession at that time due to the very high lchance of being pushed into touch.

| Frustrated again. We just lack that clinical edge and constantly shoot ourselves in the foot.We should have gone in at HT in the lead, but too poor lapses of conecentration from the same player cost us.
Jefferies has been poor for some time, why he was placed at full back is beyond me, but the last few games he hasn't been good enough.
We just didn't look clinical enough today. When we scored and got a wrongly awarded penalty for the ball going out on the full, we should have turned the screw and either scored or forced a repeat set. It was a great effort, but we need to be start been more clinical.

bit harsh that....I know you had some missing today...but so did we...including first choice hooker and first choice scrum half. I'd say we haven't hit our straps yet.....running at about 60-70%. I'm confident we'll be in the mix for the GF and/or CC cup final.
I fully expect the bulls to make the play-offs...fingers crossed you get your money sorted out.

I think Kear is a couple of weeks off.
Cut out the handling errors and we're a decent team IMO. Need Gale to bed in and Kearney back now and we'll be able to do some damage.
How rubbish is James Childs?

The call he made for offside against Pryce in the 1st half was poor but we luckily managed to defend that set. He missed a knock on at the PTB for the Hodgson score IMO. We didn't do enough to win that game though and we probably needed the rub of the green with decisions.. it didn't happen.

| I am on the view that we have a bit of a problem with refereeing in this country anyway. Would Child/Alibert/Thaler be given a gig in the NRL.. not a chance. Child is still relatively young so he might well develop but ideally he should be learning his trade in the lower leagues. The lack of quality refs has undoubtedly fast tracked his promotion to SL ref.

It says on his twitter hes two weeks away, we need him for the finishing out wide thought ainscough missed that opportunity yesterday. But I agree we are just a couple of players away from our best 17. very happy with our young squad just need to keep them!!!!

| We could easily have won the game, but overall when in possession Wire looked that half a yard sharper and faster.
If we had kept it error free then we would have had a chance. Unfortunately Hargreaves was badly at fault for the try under the posts that killed us, and again made a shambles of the phantom pass that was picked up for another. Not picking on him especially, but you are never going to beat Warrington away with players gifting them 12 points, and we did shoot ourselves in the foot, hard though we tried.
Has Ainscough lost his pace or his bottle? Couple of times you'd have wanted your winger to pile in and go headfirst for the line, i hate it when they slam the brakes on and try to come inside. One in particular looked a great chance, and the sort that the Crookeses, Charnleys and Halls don't hesitate to go hell-for-leather at.

| I think hes abit worried of injuring himself again. And being on the sidelines like last season, think his decision makin was pretty good if he had dived for the line and been pushed into touch which seemed likely with 2cover defenders he would be moanin he was greedy for wasting the set,he did work his butt ofto chase down the wire break and put rilley under pressure for purtells no tryso give him some credit id like to see him play with lulia and not purtell, as luliaseems to bring his winger in more but with pryce he dosent have much pace to take advantage of it like crookes did

| It was a poor decision from Ainscough and he should definitely have gone for the corner. He blew another try earlier in the game when he fumbled Purtells offload. I like the effort that Ainscough brings but he I don't see him being anything more than a squad player for us. If we need to make cuts for next year, he will be someone we will need to let go.
