Sheffield announced the Magrin signing today btw. Would have liked to have kept him if possible but the sad fact is that if someone else wants one of our players, chances are they will leave. Ethan Ryan seems to be an exception to that rule.

I can't be the only one expecting to see "Bulls sign World Cup star" and when clicking the link, it's Shane Toal, Steve Parry, Andrew Gay or Courtney Davies.

Think we have a great starting 17 which is stronger than any other in the league. But its a long old season and being the Bulls, we can expect plenty of long term injuries, probably to both half backs. So we desperately need some depth. If we want to achieve promotion, we need a strong squad, not just 17.

Regarding the loan signings. Im OK with them so far as i can't see them being recalled, whereas last year, we all knew Larroyer, Lilley etc would get called back at some point as they were all on the fringes of the first team.

Shame the owners didn't see the same possibility of players being recalled before Easter last year eh? We might not have ended up in C1.

Anyway, yes, I agree completely we do need to reinforce the squad. I'm hoping a lot of positive news is around the corner as things seem to have gone a bit quiet.

Maybe they're saving any good news for after the early bird deadline in the hope they can squeeze even more money out of the fans by convincing them to buy when it's £50 more.

That assumes some sort of plan exists.

To be utterly fair on last season, I suspect the owners knew only too well what might happen but could do sod all about it. We got whoever was available (and was prepared to come..), and it was all done in a rush anyway with little time to consider any consequences, well, other than the consequences of not signing anybody.

That excuse won't wash this time round though so it's finger out time, as of about three weeks ago.

My guess is there won't be any more signings announced until the new head coach is announced. I'm guessing the signings up to now had tooveys input at some level, and ac probably wants a coach in place before any more player announcements. Was today the deadline for the coaching applications?

They've just announced Jamel Goodall on a 1 year deal. Former Halifax ERA, Keighley & Cas utility forward. Jamaican International. 20 years old. Can't say I've heard of him.

Nice to have some signing news, seems forever since our last one. As Hamster said, don't know much about him so impossible to make a judgment. Cas saw something in him and while they didn't think enough of him to offer an SL contract, hopefully he can go well in L1.

As i said previously, i think we have a very strong 17, but badly lack depth. So i expect a few more players like Goodall, young and hungry, to provide some depth and cover, rather than starters of the quality of Chisholm, Crossley etc

No says we've signed him on a 1 year contract

I coached him for a while when he was a junior at Wibsey. A good player who was far ahead of most juniors at that time. A big lad with plenty of skill.

But we do need a few proven forwards. Hopefully they're in the pipeline.

Plenty of pace apparently, so much so they feel he may play on the wing - either way round we're not exactly over loaded with wingers either so he seems a good signing.

Young lad, spent some time at a super league club, bit to prove, one year deal to concentrate the mind - what's not to like?
