| For the sake of 45 people maybe the club should have taken the step to phone every one of them personally, and maybe counter the bad news with offer of a very discounted membership for 2017. maybe might have kept a few on board and brought a little extra in

I'd agree, I think most supporters would have been reasonable about a compromise of some sort for the final 5 years they should have received.

| Quote ="Bully_Boxer"The club have already commented publicly on it. And clearly one of the 45 isn't happy as he wrote to LE to state his anger and his intent to walk away from the club after 40 years. Personally I think it is shoddy treatment of those fans but ultimately it is up to them how they feel/sort it with the club. My concern was the validity of these further deals of free season tickets. A year is a short time, especially as a Bulls supporter!'"
I would agree with that. It is up to each individual person, and I take my hat off to those who are still sticking with the club after it, as I honestly couldn't do it. Actually that's wrong, I couldn't stick with the current owner if it was done. I would walk away until said owner who made the decision to shaft me had left.
You're absolutely right when you say legally, the club have done nothing wrong. Morally though, they have. And your example of people buying season tickets now and not having them honoured if the club changed hands before the season starts is spot on.
I tend to agree with the club's stance in the last 2 years of you get admission to the ground but not the other membership benefits. I think that's ok and a small price gets your those benefits too. But what they're doing now is a disgrace.
I appreciate some people will defend every decision the club makes regardless of how good or bad it is. What I don't agree with is the suggestion by Blotto that those of us not directly affected (us "3rd parties"icon_wink.gif shouldn't have an opinion on it. Sure I won't take any action as I personally haven't been affected, it's down to those who have to deal with it how they see fit. But I won't let that stop me expressing the opinion that I feel they have been shat upon by a club that constantly wants people to be loyal to it.

| Quote ="HXSparky"This is so bonkers it's almost unbelievable! To shaft 45 supporters like this who were willing to commit to the club for 10 years (albeit at a good discount) is ludicrous.
It does beg the question whether next year's 5% (wow!) reduction and 2018 20%/free offers will be honoured? Great ideas, but they need to be backed up with an inherent trust factor that they'll not be cast aside if the going gets even tougher.
Bulls supporters (and visiting fans) have been subject to Super League pricing (that was a quote from the Bulls office when I questioned them) since relegation, including a ridiculous (but now thankfully defunct - hopefully) £2 hike for "game day" tickets.
All the best for 2017, but maybe the club needs to concentrate on balancing its books properly (players and coaching staff wages for instance) and make sure it prioritises payments to the likes of HMRC? Just a thought.'"
The £2 hike for gameday is fairly common. There are a number of clubs have done the same for years (Huddersfield is the first one I remember doing it). It's all to try and get people buying in advance really.
All your other points though, I don't think any sane person would argue with. I get the club is a business and needs to be run as such, but it does often feel like the fans that are still sticking with it are being constantly asked to put more and more money in to make up for those that are no longer on board.

How much effort would have been involved for the club to personally phone up 45 people and explain the decision, at the same time making a discount offer on their 2017 Season Tickets? Not really all that much - certainly it would have been much better in terms of publicity and goodwill.

| In terms of 3rd parties not speaking up, well if other such 3rd parties didn't speak up we'd still have slavery and a bunch of other unpleasant practices going on somI woUld hope that the Odsal 45 appreciate the support they have been given from 3rd parties. Loyal fans of all clubs deserve our support, though we are always going to be in volved in a bit of banter as well, this is not one of those times and those people who will have budgeted, unlike the Bulls, will have to find that additional money for 5 years or walk.

I'd happily take on board such a comment had it not been from a supporter of a club that systemically shafted opposition fans by increasing gate prices at will.
I'd also take note from someone not associated with a club that itself had issues paying the tax man (among others) in their very recent history.

As a 3rd party fan, I see your point but I also see what Blotto is saying too. Whilst we can have an opinion on the subject, we have so far only seen what has been written by a clearly disgruntled supporter and the comments of one who whilst clearly upset with the decision has also appreciated the comments (said in private) made by the club owner.
Whilst I agree, it doesn't look like good moral or business sense from the outside, something has obviously triggered it that we are not seeing here as I doubt for one second the club have taken this decision lightly or not considered the repercussions of doing so. What ever it is, the club must feel the pain of the negative attention is worth the gain, whatever that is.

It's a poor do, but (especially over the past decade) I think all Bulls fans have been ripped off by a succession of inept owners anyway.

| I have said I will buy a season ticket but I was waiting for the court date, no I'm waiting until the next. Once the end of the month comes I will have to buy it and just hope.

Me personally, no.
Terrible timing and pr for the club but tbh I'm used to the club just stumbling from one embarrassment to the other, it's been this way for the past ten years.

I think the winding up order is. Personally, I intend on buying one, but I am waiting until nearer the discount deadline at the end of the month. Partly because I'm a bit skint, but largely because it'll be after the next hearing.
I've spoken to quite a few other fans though that aren't buying yet because they are scared the club is in the gutter and don't know what's happening.
As has been discussed at length on here before, it's counter productive. But with people not swimming in money, you can't really blame them for being weary about parting with their money.
As far as this thing with 10 year tickets goes, I don't think it's been widely enough reported to have a big effect. Short of a few comments on social media and those that read the LE letters page, I don't think it's particularly well known about.

Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
It has always been my understanding that paying for anything on a credit card makes the credit card company as liable as the supplier in the case of non performance.
There are some exceptions of course but I can not see any problem with buying my own season ticket (over £100 minimum) on my own credit card (the wife pays for her own on her own credit card - as opposed to an additional user on mine)
Should the club go tits up I would expect the credit card company to shell out.
If some legal member has further info on this I would be pleased to hear from them.
My own take on this is embodied here

TBH you are right we have and I still think the club should and could do more by us! But I still want to watch rugby and want to watch Bradford Bulls and care about them as a club. And that is the hard part, I'm completely torn as to what to do and I'm gutted to be in this situation where I feel upset at a club I've been around since I was 8 and is a massive part of my life. No, and it has put a massive downer on the fact until this point my other half was getting into the rugby and we were going to get a season ticket for him even though he'd miss a few games with work but it just isn't a luxury we can afford now.
