The key difference turned out to be the weight of the needless, lopsided penalties the ref kept finding, and I had loudly predicted an early pen for them at the end, to give them the crucial field position. Never a penalty, and certainly not at that stage. Was Higham onside? Whether or not, failing to get VR to check was plain bent.

Thought performance was a big improvement given personnel available. Result didn't go our way but think we're definitely improving. Matters put in a surprisingly decent stint and Thomas started to look useful.

The gaps in our squad are obvious, so hopefully Rohan and SF can see that and do their best to get some recruits in before the important games.
