| He's heavily involved with the Positive Bradford stuff too. He definitely bangs the drum for the city. I'll be delighted if this comes off.

| Quote ="pie.warrior"looks like the RFL could be held at gun point.....sell the lease back cheaply to new consortium, pay July wages for the Bulls and we will take over the team on Monday....... Do the RFL have to publish full accounts ....????'"
...or maybe they are discussing a fair and equitable deal buying back the lease so they have more control going forward and the RFL are not out of pocket?
And maybe they are asking for an advance of the sky money (which would be ours anyway in time, not an RFL handout) to cover the immediate wages?
Could be either, but I'm inclined to hope for the more positive approach until we know some facts.
Sounds positive so far, and certainly seems the right kind of local investor, fingers crossed.

| Sounds like the rumours at Trin when an investor was allegedly going to take over the club in admin but wanted assurrances that Trin would remain in SL these were not forthcoming by the RFL I wonder if it will be the same stance here if it becomes an issue.

| The report in the paper reads:
" "The group have shown genuine interest in taking the club forward and, whilst we are cautiously optimistic regarding the outcome of these discussions, the consortium will be holding further discussions on Tuesday with the Rugby Football League.
"They will be seeking information on the situation regarding the ownership of Odsal Stadium and will be discussing the Bulls' status in the Super League competition going forward.""
Akbars (or anyone) looking to do a deal would very obviously need to:
1. establish exactly what their position was going to be in regards to a lease; very obviously nobody would ever do a deal with the administrator first, without having done a deal on the lease.
2. establish exactly where the Bulls will stand as regards Super League, wit the RFL.; very obviously nobody would ever do the deal first, and only afterwards find out whether they had bought a SL club, a Championship or Championship 1 club.
It is the first press release that makes 100% perfect sense to me.
I hope they get the assurances that they seek from the RFL.

| From the same update Rhinosgirl reported:
Quote The RFL have sent staff up to Odsal to give the Bulls practical assistance with their finances.'"
I'm surprised the conspiracy theorists aren't all over that already.
Quote Interim Bulls chief executive Gary Tasker met coach Mick Potter today to update him on the latest situation.'"
I hope that means what I think it means.

| well bradford have to play at Odsal whoever finally owns them as the reason the RFL gave for buying the lease was to secure the iconic ground for rugby league. So Bulls will be there and in Super League

Not too sure what to make of this. Could just be badly worded. Is it that Akbar's may not be the main players in the deal or that they want the club but maybe not our main players?
Hope its not the latter.

thats how I read it too. Would imagine akbars involvement is more to do with non matchday use of coral stand as a restaurant/wedding venue with some percentage of any profits from such use filtering back to the rugby side. Whilst club have used coral stand in that capacity dont think they've ever really pushed it as much as they should and it been pretty under utilised. Leeds for example get a lot of revenue from non match day use of their hospitality facilities and is an area we should look to emulate.
Seem to remember a mention at time that RFL bought odsal that they were going to use part of coral office space for extra capacity for red hall. Would imagine part of negotiations involve this aspect as would imagine akbars would want exclusive use outside matchdays.

| The update is clumsily worded on the T&A site, but I'm sure its about the makeup of the consortium - nothing to do with the players in the Bulls squad at all.
Wonder who the 'main players' are then, if not Akbars?

| Gary Tasker's update from this before lunch:
Quote ="Bradford Bulls on Facebook"Positive talks were held yesterday with a group of Bradford based Asian Businessmen and these went on until late into the night. The group have shown genuine interest in taking the club forward and, whilst we are cautiously optimistic regarding the outcome of these discussions, the consortium will be holding further discussions today with the Rugby Football League. They will be seeking information from the Governing Body on the situation regarding the ownership of Odsal Stadium and will be discussing the Bulls status in the Super League Competition going forward.
Mr Guilfoyle will seek to extend the deadline for the club going into Liquidation whilst ever the positive dialogue continues.'"
If Caisley is involved then I would consider the bolded words to be deliberately misleading. Not that that would be breaking new ground.

| I think in my own world I've sussed this!!
Who ever the consortium are buy the club, then a deal is done where the RFL give up the lease on Odsal and "The Consortium" buy the ground from its owners ( Bradford Council) You can now see why Cllr Green was at Odsal on Sunday.
Every day and night of week resturant is open and the ground is used for other business activity market, sport, car sales. what ever the businesses are behind the consortium.
The Odsal once a week reverts to the home of the Bulls.
Now thats my rationale and I think it could and should work for all involved.
I hope for the sake of Bulls fans that whta ever the outcome is its positive
