Not wanting to hijack the thread - but that is the perception of Newcastle by people who don't know Newcastle.

The Billionaire who has bought the Knights has made his billion dollars in the coal industry in just 10 years, and he isn't the only one to make that sort of money in the Hunter.
The population of the region has increased by 30% since the steel works closed and the unemployment rate is just over 4%.
A few people commute 160 kilometres to Sydney for a job - but more people commute the other way.
The Newcastle region is basically one huge construction site as we rip up and export the world's largest and most accessable coal deposit.

Nice offloader and will be a handful for defences. I think he'll do well with a good winger outside of him.

Sounds ideal pairing. Whilst Lulia and ah van would be a very powerful pairing not sure ah van has pace to take advantage of keiths offloads. Think a nippy winger is way to go.

Currently playing alongside Uate (pity he can't bring him over too!!) who is an explosive winger. I reckon either Raynor or Ainscough would get plenty of space. Lulia is playing left centre for the Knights so if Raynor gets a new deal, he is perhaps the more likely partner at the moment.

He didn't get much chance to shine but looked strong in defence and put a bellringer on Trent Waterhouse. Then when he got the chance drew two men to flick a nice inside ball for Uate to score. Think he needs a speedster like Ainy outside him.

For a first view looks very promising indeed.

Sounds like a good signing. Obviously we'll have to wait and see, but I'd rather us sign somebody whos hungry and has potential than a 30+ coming for a payday.
