Wouldn't go that far but certainly an interesting decision if true. Maybe a case of causing as little disruption to a winning team and still. Accommodating Kearney.

Don't talk rubbish.
Briggs missed out when he didn't deserve to be dropped and we've now won two on the bounce.
It's a shame that Royston will miss out tomorrow but Potter knows what he's doing.

Why is it rubbish mick? why would you drop by far one of our best players in recent weeks? yes kearney to come in defo but he shoudnt just knock shad out of FB position. It should be BK and Jefferies in the halves. Oh one minute do you want super herbert in instead? whos clearly RUBBISH! Royston to keep his FB position and Kearney in the halves. If worst comes to worst it should be kearney full back and royston at centre. But my god dropping him? thought you knew your rugby league mick but clearly not

Herbert shouldn't be playing that is correct but Potter dropped an inform Briggs and it looks like he's going to do the same to Royston if what I was told last night is true.
In an ideal world Royston should take Whiteheads place, with young Elliot either going to the bench and then forcing Olbison out of the 17 or start him alonside Elima and bring Sibbit in off the bench to cover 11 & 12.
I never said Royston should be dropped but if he is then we have to respect Potters call to do so.

We don't know if he's carrying a knock for a start. It could just be squad rotation or potter may think the players hes picked are better suited to this particular game. It's not always ad straightforward as just playing your 17 best players.

Yep sack the coach, there's a plan for the future. Maybe while your at it you should sack the next one as a premptive move, just incase they drop a player too.

Really glad that you are waiting in the wings to answer the call when Potter moves on. You clearly have considerably more coaching experience than him, and would not dream of considering your emotions regarding one specific player ahead of what selections and structure works best for the team. You also have clearly seen what has been happening in training this week, have a sound knowledge of what knocks and other ailments players are struggling with, and have sat down and watched all the videos of both our own players and the Stains players (with most of whom you are pretty familiar). What a replacement coach the club has all ready and waiting to take over the reins! I can't wait!
As Bullseye quotes Wayne Bennett in his sig, it goes something like "If you start listening to the fans, you'll soon be sitting with them".

| In all fairness Potter said he would pick the team based on matchday performance and in the case of Briggs & Royston they can consider themselves very unlucky to be left out

| Best thing to do is have a nightmare of a game, that way you're certain of playing the following week! Potter has been using this method with Herbert and Sykes all season..

| I think if it was Macca who had dropped Briggs for Herbert after seeing a decent looking HB partnership for the first time in the season, and then proceeded to possibly drop our most in form player the comments on here would be a little different.
IMO Potter is not the worlds best coach as some people like to believe, I think he is good enough to get us back to being a top 8 side but I doubt we will win any silverware under him, he made some controversial decisions at his time at Saints and has made a few odd ones here at Bulls also. I'm not into the whole "let's sack the coach" thing at all but I think if these were the comments about Macca a lot less people would be jumping to the coach's rescue, it wasn't often people were wanting to trust odd decisions purely because Macca made it so why Potter?

I suspect that many have forgotten about the luxury of having a (fairly) full squad to pick from. It's hardly surprising since we've not had the luxury for some considerable time, but it allows things like squad rotation and possibly a bit of experimentation with systems. I'm not sure if the person who happens to be the coach actually makes any difference; the end result of most coaching appointments is usually the sack and there is probably more good fortune involved in being considered 'the world's best' coach than many would care to admit.

Does tonights result make Potter right?
Does this mean the sacking papers have been withdrawn for another week, or does he still get the boot for the last second penalty?

As did Crookes and i'm not sure how Shad/Briggs will get back in the side at the mo.

| Re Shad & Brigss not getting back in side as today was a good performance, i am sure they will be knocking on Potters door and reminding him they were left out after playing well.

In position to deal with two kicks that were potential scores for Saints. Got through a fair defensive stint as well this evening. I wouldn't give him a new deal right now but I thought he had one of his better games for us considering the conditions.

Agreed. More than that he looked solid and confident, putting in some good kicks (along with Jeffries) which kept the pressure on Saints. It probably gives Potter a bit of a headache but it's good overall to have players in competition for places because it allows options. Roll on next week!!
