| Great effort from the lads, good line speed and aggression in defence and despite too many errors we actually played some rugby. Briggs and BJ started to gel and give Ah Van a pass now and again he'll score his fair share. On the sending off I thought the fact that Tomkins was on his way down should have saved Raynor. When he connected he was at the same level as the ball and it was an attempt he had to make. Very harsh. And finally, a kicking game. Beat Salford and the Quins and we're back from the dead!

| Just got back. Despite being on the wrong end of the result the team performance was probably the best of the season. No complaints there. I'm gutted at the result but that's the way it turns out. To lose by 4 points with 12 men for the majority of the game when no-one game us a hope...it was just so pleasing to see the team do themselves credit.
It would be nice to see the opposition fans win with a bit more magnanimity though. I started listing various encounters but...perhaps we just bumped into the wrong Wigan fans today. I hope so. Debaser already described one. It's a sad state of affairs if they were representative of the whole.

| From Sporting Life:
The former Great Britain international appeared to be aiming to dislodge the ball from Tomkins' grasp but referee Steve Ganson decided there was intent to harm the player, although he opted not to award an additional penalty.
Potter believes the dismissal was harsh and intends to raise the matter with the Rugby Football League's director of referees Stuart Cummings.
"I'll go through the appropriate channels," he said. "I thought he was trying to stop the try.
"It was without a doubt the turning point, that was plain to see. Twelve v 13 in the second half was tough. It wasn't impossible but it was tougher than it would normally be."
Good to see King Warrior knows far more than the journalist writing the match report.

Well I know that if I was going in to try and knock the ball out of a tackle I would go in with a flat hand to slap the ball. Then scratch its eyes out.

He will be raising it with SCummings? Well that will see it sorted then...

Its a shame that this is what the self proclaimed "Peoples Club" fans have been reduced to.
It's no wonder the Gratton Stadium (or whatever the land fill site is called these days) is empty .... still at least other fans have plenty of empty terracing to move to if the happen to stand near the likes of you!

Indeed as I mentioned earlier. Hell of a shot to plant Golden Balls right on the button while flying in at full tilt. He must have been practicing all week to get that so accurate.
Idiot.

| Well I did make a post earlier in the week complaining that our players are too 'nice' and when was the last time we had an oppo fan on here slating one of our own.
As for Raynor, it was a poor and desperate attempt to prevent a try. No malice or intent though I don't think. Goodness knows what Red Hall will come up with though, pick a random number between 1-10 and then randomly divide or multiply by 2 on appeal. I think that is the current formula used.

Good heavens, we have violent agreement again. What IS this world coming to?
The BJ/Briggs partnership was one of the best things to come out of today IMO.

Yep just seen it on Calender he was hit on the chin. He wasn't milking that.
Wasn't a sending off though the first contact was with the arm. There's clearly no intent and is no where the "assault some of the Wiggin chumps claim it was.

Not sure where you are getting that from. I already said there was no intent from Raynor to injure Tomkins and I said it was reckless. He most likely was trying to punch the ball out but got it wrong. My point is that just because it wasn't his intent it doesn't give him an excuse to chin someone.

| Shock Wigan fan comes on bulls board to tell us our player is a disgrace but then will probably moan that a bulls fan defends raynor.
Personally I thought it was a badly timed last ditch effort that he got all wrong. I just dont see that intent in raynor. Just trying his hardest. I have no real qualms with the red card. Ganson has always shown it in those situations.
I will say though, in the next few weeks we'll see exactly the same challenge happen and no red card shown. That is why it annoys me. When we need the rub of green we don't get it, especially against big sides. Unfortunate it knocked tomkins out. That effected the decision for me.
