Burgess will see out his contract, don't worry.
I still think Myler will end up at Wire, but I wouldn't be disappointed with his capture. Can't see us paying a big fee though. |

We wont get any of Craig Wing, Danny Brough or Richie Myler. If we do sign another half back it will most likely be Chris Thorman, so dont get your hopes up.

tbh provided burgess was going to NRL club and not a SL one then I would be reasonably happy with that deal. Would go a long way toward sorting our biggest weakness in backline, with deacon as backup and to pass experience on to myler. Myler going on to be our half for a good few years and give us some stability in a key role. Burgess whilst a big loss plays in a position where we have a lot of homefrown strength coming through the ranks with whitehead and donaldson not looking that far off regular first team spots. |

I used to like Thorman when he was at the Broncos, and got called up for Yorkshire, but its all gone down hill for him since and i would not sign him for us.

I Agree with mat. We should let Burgess go to the NRL and use the funds to go towards someone like Wing, Myler or Brough. We have some good young forwards coming through, and James Donaldson sounds like a superstar in the making already for Loose Forward.

would think he's a priority if not already signed, if not why would we be putting him in shop window by playing him in first team?
given anti-tampering deadline is fast approaching I'd be surprised if deals havent been agreed with all OOC players we plan on retaining. We're just holding back releasing news so we have positive PR to release at appropriate times. |

If Burgess wants to go and we can replace him with a couple of quality players as has been suggested on here then I think that we should go for it, assuming of course that Burgess is unhappy with his lot at Odsal.
Assuming, for arguments sake, that the rumour about him going for Wing and Myler are correct. We would still have a pack of.....
Lynch, Le'Strange, Hall, Scruton, Godwin, Worrincy, Kopczak, Menzies, Langley, Donaldson, Crossley, which seems pretty strong even accounting for Cook, Morro, Solo, Newton and Burgess moving on.
Our pack is not really a problem, our backs certainly are and the halfs need improving more than anywhere.
An unhappy Burgess out - Wing and Myler/Brough in looks like a cracking deal to me.
Also, look at the players rumoured/confirmed to be off - there must be a few pennies being freed up from Newton, Morro and Solo at least and if Sam is added to that then we can add a good bit more to that. If we also factor in the money that was made available for the fruitless pursuit of Wing this season then we really should be looking at getting abit of quality in.

Just heard that Parramatta have won the race for Craig Wing's signature for next season, so he aint coming to us. Bit dissapointing, would have been a great singing but was also for a lot of money, so maybe it could be spent on more than one player now.
