Hmm. Suppose so. Not sure exactly what though.
Went after the Keighley v Strela Kazan game. Had to take the next day off work as I daren't put myself more than 25 yards away from the dunny, just in case.

Having fished whatever it was out of the curry, I wasn't about to examine further.

| Omar Khan's (near the ice rink) is really nice with tablecloths etc, but it might be a bit small for 12.
There's always Anams, Mumtaz and Ambala, up Great Horton Road. I can vouch for Mumtaz and Anams but I've never been to the Ambala.

| [uDid that one used to be called Pakeezah?[/u
The Pakeezer in Leeds Road has been refurbished and renamed the Saffron. Still a good varied menu but now swish inside and with own car park across the road. Well worth a shout.
IMO if you're taking a party to a restaurant and you don't want to dissapoint them by your choice - Mumtaz is still impressive in decor and food. Bit pricey (i.e. compared only with other Bradford places) but good value and consistent quality. A table by the glass frontage has impressed more than a few London clients.
For a familly Do, I would suggest the 3 Singhs, 254 Sticker Lane on the ring road. Years ago used to be the Stickler pub.
Great access and parking, good food and prices and the best ambience in the city - great service, Asian chic decor, light and spacious, welcomes kids and will tailor a menu for them.
Not a drunks area
We use the early bird times a lot. 5pm - 6.45 it's BOGOF time.
Mondays their take-aways are half price, can fill your freezer for the week!

Absolutely agree with that. It's why Akbar's and Mumtaz especially in Bradford are full of the Leeds Crowd entertaining there.

Aakash is gone, thanks to Bank of India, but no loss IMO.
Too late they offered table service to their customers. Buffet service is not condusive to a group's night out where too many times some have to leave to collect their own food - at £15+ per head.
And having a table in the "Gods" meant a route march up and down stairs balancing your chosen fare. My predeliction for a few Lal Toofans made this task daunting if not dangerous.
Food nothing special anyway.
Hear that having to build a two storey car park to comply with original planning consent was the financial killer.

| Regret to say that the best restaurant in our travels this last few months was not in Bradford, it was the NOOR on Leeds Rd, Huddersfield - right outside the Galpharm.
Went there after the last Bulls match.
A bit Whitey in colonial decor but top class for quality in a good range of traditional menus. Freshness of taste was outstanding.
Taken over by Raz Kahn, a retired police inspector from Bradford a little while ago, he's on the ball with customer service and the kitchen.
Prices are good and the portions are enormous. £70 including copious drinks, sambucca and coffees. They bagged our left overs from a meal for 4 that went through the card, and that gave me 3 microwave meals at work.

| Mumtaz food is ok if expensive. My problem is the way the waiters seem to throw the food onto your table with a scowl. I know I've got short hair but I hardly look your atypical BNP member.

| The 2 in contension at the moment are Akbar's on Leeds road in the hope theres room in the upstairs section where theres more room. Or theres Anam's (i think thats what its called) which is just further down from Mumtaz but before Ambala.

No, it's at Bradford Uni. It's a sort of curved glass type thing that's been added on to the main building on campus and yesterday was its official opening

Consider yourselves lucky then.
Must say I've eaten in there 2-3 times and have had numerous take aways before and after the beard/pubes incident and never had a problem with the food or after effects.
That said we tend to get our takeaways from the formica tabled Eurasia in Keighley.
For posh nosh I think Mumtaz is good. The waiters are a bit surly and the decor and displays a bit OTT but the food, whilst not as good as it used to be, is still pretty decent IMO.
I'd avoid Akbars on Leeds Road like the plague. Been three times. First time was a work doo on a Friday night and it was heaving with p[ui[/ussed up whiteys (some even cracking bottles of Champagne); second time me and our lass went but it was very full of p[ui[/ussed up whitey again so we didn't stay; third time was with our lass on a weekday evening - no p[ui[/uss heads but thought the food was expensive and only 'ok'.
Had a Billy no Mates curry in Omars on Friday before the Leeds vs Wests U-18s game. Superb as ever.

We were rounded up from our offices and forced to watch it from the balcony to make it look like there were more people there, after originally being told that under no circumstances were we allowed to stand there!

| Just been out to the place at the bottom of Manchester Road that used to be the Piste and Siglu but is now a curry place.
It was an average experience, so average I can't remember what the hell the place is called - the only high point was the fact that I didn't have to pay for it, oh and the fact I got to reminisce about my underage drinking days.
