| Same squad or rest a few?
Peltier got a dead leg apparently. Everyone else fit and healthy.

| Next match thread already? Someone's keen
Davies/Kirk/Oakes are all knocking on the door. We might have Johnson back too.

| Chisholm to start IMO I'd like to see Oakes get a chance too. Smith got better as the game went on, but i feel Oakes is much better at releasing Ryan. Rest those who have a few bumps and bruises (it's a long season) Don't think they will be a huge amount of changes. Hunslet are no mugs either, currently unbeaten and i think will be fired up regarding Flanagan.

| Is it the 5th round where SL clubs come in?
Be worth getting through to at least that stage with the hope of a big money tie

Warrington, Catalans, Hull KR & Widnes come in the next round. The rest after that.

| If we're after a big money tie then Wire or obviously HKR would be good.
I'd prefer a tough game versus a championship team to see where we are and to keep feet on the ground.
This is all assuming we beat Hunslet who aren't mugs and could spring a surprise.

| If we can get past Hunslet, I wouldn't mind one of the 'lower' Championship clubs in the next round just to see where we're at. And I don't mean Leigh!
Leeds or Hull away is the ultimate goal. Get some £££.

| Peltier would be a big miss as he's a handful at the moment but given the strength in depth we have, it would be silly to risk him if he's anything less than 100% fit. Kirk seemed to go well in the reserves and Davies had some strong showings in the friendlies so one of them for me.
Flanagan is a no-brainer as he'll be fired up just as much, if not more than he was vs Keighley.
I'd expect Oakes, Johnson and Vila to feature too.

Had a very good game when we played York. Thought the ref in the main did alright last week too. I've been much more impressed with the referees so far this year, than some of the shambles we had last year.

| It was a refreshing change to find the ref didn't look as though he had just wandered in from a fourth form outing. Mind it's funny to see one of the worst refs I've seen, Mr Cobb, is now in SL, so there is light at the end of the tunnel. Eventually...

| Yeah Joe Cobb retired a year ago Bulliac.
The refs do look better this year but it’s early days yet. I also wonder if they look better because we’re playing better. You always get a better deal when you’re the dominant team. Mind you at York it was a fine line and we did get the rub of the green there IMO.

| I'm with Bullseye. If, we win on Sunday then I'd love a strong championship side at home to really test our metal. I think we could have them all a good game and potentially spring an upset. At home with a big crowd behind the lads, and get some coin in. Not Toronto though.
Round after, Leeds at Leeds, another big crowd and gate.
Gotta grind past Hunslet first however and that will be a tough game.
I'd relish a good cup run though and some meaningful games against higher ranked sides would do wonders for our squad.

I got the impression at the time that people were jumping to conclusions. Tim Roby I believe was the first to cite homophobia amongst the RFL (hence why he toddled off to Australia), and I think ever since then when a referee decides to leave, people just assume that's the reason. More likely with Cobb he just had a very good job outside of RL and it wasn't worth the hassle to keep refereeing, especially as badly as he was at it. I seem to remember Karl Kirkpatrick gave up officiating when they went full time and he didn't want to give up his very good living.
Anyway, we're derailing the thread about the game. My apologies.

Agree with that. I'ts fine to look ahead but I think we're maybe getting a bit ahead of ourselves by maybe dismissing Hunslet. We're possibly favourites for the game but it won't be easy against another side who may well try to use a grievance as motivation.

Thankfully the team seem to have got over this hurdle. In the last few years there's been a lot of arrogance about them being the bigger club and they've taken a lot of teams for granted, often losing or narrowly winning as a result. From what I've seen (with the Ross Peltier interview and Keighley as an exception), they don't seem to be doing that this year. Maybe it's Kear that's bringing that about or maybe it's just a case of the penny having finally dropped and a lesson been learned. But it's a welcome change in attitude that they're not taking teams for granted any more.

I don't know, there were plenty of cringeworthy sound bites coming from the club before the season kicked off about us going unbeaten etc.
Only recently I think it was Lee Smith being quoted saying that he wanted to help get the club back to where it [ideserved[/i to be. I hate that phrase so much.
The club deserves to be exactly where it is!

Fair point actually. The attitude to the games does seem different though, even if maybe the soundbites aren't.

| can't take anybody for granted. They're in the same league as us.
What I will say is that we have a very good squad that are well capable of performing very well, providing we perform to the best of our abilities.

| Provided we stay injury free I think we'll really start to see the best stuff when the warmer days come and the pitches harden up. The spine of McNally, Keyes, Chisholm and Flanagan has lots of tries in them not to mention our man Pickersgill.
Remember we have a lot of players who've yet to fully learn how to play together. When they gel it's going to be something.
