| Back by popular demand - thanks FA
Please comment on your choice!
I go for the first option (should have gone before start of this season). The club were going in the wrong direction before this season and he's only made it worse barring a few false dawns

| Not making the play offs is NOT acceptable in my opinion. But we are not going to sack him. So no point in voting.
I vote for some changes in back room staff, some more quality signings and some openess from the board.

How about the last option - Other, please state on thread? I thought this would be enough for opposition fans and close friends and relatives of our esteemed coach

| I see 15 people have voted that he's doing a good enough job or should be given another contract yet no one has explained these opinions on the thread. I can only assume these are 5th column supporters of other teams or people making fun for the sake of it.
If not I'd be interested in reading from any Bulls fan why he should see out his contract or be given a new one? Its only a messageboard don't be scared!
I cannot beleive that our own fans are prepared to accept the sub mediocrity that his team served up this season. Beating a few lower table clubs at the end of the season changes nothing.

But there's 9 (only) "sack" votes yet "only" two have said why. You could say the same about the rest. Unfortunately for you it is not compulsory for folk to say either now they vote, much less why they vote as they do. Indeed this follows most democratic processes where ballots are entirely secret.
Your assumption is uncalled for and totally invalid. It just suits you to pretend that.

Don't talk wet. I've seen others jump to the wrong conclusion about the identity of posters on this board, don't see how this is any different
I don't expect everyone to explain their choice - just one or two would be nice considering the proportion of votes and no explanation. Whats wrong with asking a few so far anonymous people to explain their views?
As for the people in the sack camp - we've had plenty of opinion on this so far it is pretty obvious why they've voted so given how the team has been in 2009

I'll talk exactly as I like, but the damp verbiage is coming from your direction.

Nothing at all. If you had. And if you respect their perfect right not to tell you how they vote, or why. THIS is the dodgy bit:
Quote I can only assume these are 5th column supporters of other teams or people making fun for the sake of it. '"
So, you assume that:
(a) anyone who votes "sack" without explanation shall be deemed to be a bona fide poster whose views are well known to the world and is thus exempt from explaining;
(b) anyone who votes "don't sack" without explanation must be deemed to be a 5th column supporter of other teams or a person making fun for the sake of it
If you can't see how barking that is then I can't explain it to you any better.

| I definitely don't want McNamara to leave, but I wouldn't jump into giving him a new contract just yet.
I do however, after going to the fans forum earlier this year, have great belief in the way the club is being run, from the bottom to the top, and honestly believe if Macca was to get a proper assistant coach, then we would certainly have potential to make this club great again.
I've said it a million times, Macca's a top class coach, and you always learn from your mistakes. I'd hope we start next season in the same vain we finished this one, playing the same enterprising brand of rugby. He's extremely well respected as a coach within the RL community, and rightly so.

| Well I will comment on my vote to ensure I'm not labelled anything I should not be.
I went for the let him see out his contract, if there is a big shortage of its quality Coaches in the game, among other things of course. If anything Macca could do with an assistant with attitude and quality backroom staff, that combined with some signings and the players staying should see us in good stead for next year.
The Superleague aint what is was, you cannot be complacent even for one game as we have learned and just because we have never missed a play off before does not mean we can't because we just have. Let Macca kick things into gear with the new signings and see what 2010 brings is my mantra on this one.
I'm braced for the 'feedback' on this go for it.

| Two people have said having a proper assistant would improve things - interesting! I wonder if club were actually thinking of getting rid of ours before the Dave Craven article
Macca was a good assistant to Noble. Not sure how you can find out if an assistant is any good as a fan though. I don't even know who the assistants at other clubs are!
I not sure about Jimmy coming back, not set the world on fire and seems to have been undermining coaches at other clubs to position himself - Harrison & Cullen in the past!

| As a neutral I'm staggered by the amount who think he is doing ok. He's not, he's performed terrible, his record gets worse every year. Missing the play-offs with that squad is not accpetable.
Do I think he will make a good coach? Yes, eventually. John Kear is God, but not too long ago he seemed like an apprentice vicar.
Should he have been sacked? Not for me to say without knowing the small print, but he seemed to try everything to convince Hood to give him his P45. I don't, & never have, bought the 'they can't afford to get rid' argument. I've never heard it from any other club in any sport. The only reason, IMO, is that Hood recognises unrealised genius in him.
