Ditto...
I saw a few with pens and paper so I'll let them summarise in more detail!
Plenty of talk on the OSV as you would expect. Cleared a few untruths and myths surrounding the settlement with the Council over Odsal etc.
Hood stated that a 'decent run' in the play offs was what the club deemed as acceptable performance from the coach/squad. He didn't really give an answer to the consequences for McNamara if we failed to do this. However he did confirm he is contracted until 2010.
Medders got the biggest cheer of the night for his passionate speech on youth development. He also gave big raps to McNamara for the work he has done to totally restructure our set up.
Loads of other stuff.. but I'll leave that to others to post in better detail.

Indeed, but I was more inclined to cheer for his brilliant, and deserved defence of Steve Mc.
The key word of the night, aside from the OSV is 'long term'. It was heavily insinuated tonight that the "previous bloke" in charge of the club just wanted a quick fix at the top of the club rather than overseeing the whole infrastructure. Or in Medders words, the bottom of the structure collapsed.
The club were losing money, buying big names just to attract immediate success. And we're heavily paying the price now. But Steve McNamara has a far more logical approach to his coaching, and its going to take a while for the club to repair the damage thats been done over the years.
Patience is a virtue, Steve Mc and Medley care about this club passionately and they want to turn it around. However, it will take time, despite all the moans and groans. Look at Leeds, where they were 7/8 years ago and where they are now. 10 homegrown players in their GF winning team last year, that could be us in a few years with some genuine patience and hard work.
Also interesting to hear Hood say if Super League had been based upon financial stability over the last 2 years, we'd have won it hands down, another nice thing to hear.
I genuinely believe the club is making massive steps to turn the consequences around from the last few years.

That's a pretty good summary in my view. Bullseye took copious notes so hopefully will post some sort of summary in the next day or 2

Quote What would the club consider to be a "successful" season this season? Most fans, I suspect would consider anything less than a decent run in the play offs to be a failure. Would the club concur with this and what steps will be taken if this "minimum" standard is not met? '"

Yes it did. Peter Hood answered, he basically explained that the club considered a good run in the play-offs to be a successful season but didn't expand on any consequences.

| Sound like a good night with some positive info. If it reassures people that we are looking good for the long term then hopefully people wont live and die by just the next result so much, and maybe we shouldn't judge the system in place and McNamara as its architect unitl at least the end of next season?
Any chance if my question got addressed? paraphrasing it;
"Does the club have a plan B should the OSV stall/fail?"
thanks for everyone posting the details BTW

Yeah, it did. Can't remember the specific answer, but it was something along the lines of : We're currently looking at all the options of the current plans and evaluating. We will certainly be staying put in Odsal, so if the OSV happens to fail the club will have to look at different strategies to improve the current facilities"

The whole long term plan thing would suggest for this season they won't be any. Tad let down by that. So are we not in the financial $hit like people have suggested?? That's good to know.

I think most people knew this by now, Hoods comments in the T&A and the match programmes have all been positive regarding the clubs finances.

Yes, a roof on the popular side would be the main objective unsurprisingly. But obviously Hood didn't dwell too long on the possibilities if it did fail.

Cheers guys, Im not overly surprised they didnt want to dwell too long on the possibilty of failure, but given the size of funding gap, current economic climate and the state of Odsal I just wanted to make sure we had some ideas of an alternative, obvious I know but it still needs addressing.

Good, but for this season the excuse of not having money has been trotted as a a reason for not doing so well.
But i guess there's a difference between having money to spend and being financially stable.

| If anyone is landscaping the garden or need to get rid of some rubble, deliver it to Peter Hood @ Odsal Stadium.
It is one massive hole to fill! Think he quoted it would take 50 trucks a day for a year to fill the bowl in! The idea is to dig into the hill behind the main stand and use that to fill a lot of it in. He did mention that environmental reports would be needed to transfer such a huge amount of material by road, is this a possible problem?

| I took a load of notes. Andrea sat next to me did likewise. Red recorded it. Very well attended meeting. So plenty of folk will be in a good position to report back. I'll put some extracts up as and when I have time.
A lot was covered - was quite a long session. I sent Stuart a longish email with six multi-point questions, and I said at the start of the email I expected the club would not consider answering many of them in open forum as appropriate. In the event, Stuart red out five of them (!!), almost in their entirety, and answers were given (that includes the one where Hood said "this sounds like one from an accountant" ). I showed Andrea my email as the points came out, so she can attest to how the club addressed my questions using exactly my words and answered reasonably comprehensively. I also heard other questions read out exactly as people posted them on here - and that included some quite hard-hitting ones. So I think its fair to say the club read out real questions exactly as they were submitted, and answered some that I thought would be quite sensitive. I'd suggest very big credit should be given to the club for responding in this way.
I'd add...my sixth question was one I was really interested in the answer to - it was about which clubs are in the poo over the tax issues and whether we are implicated. I saw Stuart afterwards and he said he meant to include it but missed it - but he answered it (to myself and Red) anyway - so I can't fault the open and candid approach. (Seemingly we are not implicated, btw).
Within the bounds of what the club was able to say in open forum, I thought that overall the club did its best tonight to engage with the (impressive turnout of) fans.
