| Besy value Season Ticket Package and Cheap Tickets could be miles apart. Don't get your hopes up too much. Same goes for any new signings. Wait and see and then make your judgements....

| The Bradford Bulls board hope that by offering the lowest prices in Super League for the 2011 season will prove a big attraction and help fill the stands at Odsal Stadium.
The average Super League attendance this season at the Grattan Stadium, Odsal has dropped from 9,677 in 2009 to 8,520 this year which means that for the past two years, have been the only seasons since Super League started in 1996 that have seen the Bulls average crowd drop below the 10,000 figure.
This is a bold move for the club, because the McNamara years have done some irreversible damage to supporters appetite for Rugby League in Bradford with some truly terrible on-field performances over the past three years.
But this move from the board allowing Bradford to offer the cheapest season tickets in Super League in 2011, deserves to be given the chance to work.
Because you can't offer the cheapest season tickets in Super League if it's only going to add a few 100 to the core support.
It really needs everyone to come out of the woodwork, from behind the sofa, out of the pubs and return to Odsal to support the Bradford Bulls.
I believe that what Peter Hood and Stuart Duffy have looked at is the Bradford City model which has been a great success for the past four years since it was introduced down at Valley Parade where supporters can get a season ticket for as little as £100 (£6 per game).
Before Bradford City dropped the prices to historic lows the average crowd was just over the 6,000 mark, now it's over 10,000.
The Bradford supporting public have notoriously been the most fickle in the UK, when the going is good it's good, but when it's bad and we must take stock the past two seasons of have been bad by the standards we set in the early days of Super League, so 2011 being 1996 all over again for the Bulls as a club needs some real enterprise shown by the club as this season ticket offer IMO delivers that message to the supporters.
How many other Super League clubs would dream of having a 8250 average crowd, I can think of Castleford, Wakefield, Salford, Harlequins, Catalans and Crusaders RL to just to name six.
So the club already has one of the best supporter bases in Super League for which to work on and I firmly truly believe that once Mick Potter has had the offseason to work with the new players and the existing squad members, that the performances and results will pick up, but more importantly attendances will very quickly pick up such is the fickle nature of the Bradfordian.
2011 is the re-birth of the Bradford Bulls, it's 1996 all over again for me.

| This could be and probably is complete and utter bollox but a family member sent me a text this morning suggesting that the offer would be £60 for a ground season ticket if we are able to sell 10,000. Sounds a bit too cheap to me, but a simmilar offer might be a goer.

cant see it . we currently have approx 6k season ticket holders spending 150 ish on s.tickets. that brings 900k into club. for 10,000 tickets to match that income to club they'd have to be priced at around £90. cant see there being an extra 4k people prepared to shell out for a season ticket even if it is cheap.
and thinking about it, its not even that simple. whilst 10,000 @£90 would match the income to the club from 6k @£150 season tickets, the down side is the club loses income from 4k of walkup support so overall income is significantly down. gamble would be that more would be spent inside the ground and club would make the money back that way I suppose.

| I think there will be a " 1/2" season ticket - ie something like 6 games only. There are plenty of people who pick & choose which games to go to,would be perfect for them

I have also heard from somebody who is usually on the money that somebody maybe underwriting the offer which might make it more viable, (a bit like Ken Davy did at Huddersfield).

they already do that at halfway point of season. Danger of doing it as a straight 6 games is that its obvious that the games the halfpass fans would pick would be the big ones and we'd be left with poor crowds for the les attractive games.

I think your earlier post could be the more appropriate. Mick has put the word "cheapest" in his post but that isn't what the club has said, as you pointed out earlier, "best value season ticket package" doesn't automatically equate to "cheapest".
Nor, given the situation at City, could such a scheme be truthfully regarded as "groundbreaking", which is one thing they definitely say it will be. Connor Murphy's article in the T&A mentions that it [icould[/i be a cheap deal, again coulds and mights don't mean a lot.

I've been told that it's "better" than the City deal. Therein may lie the "groundbreaking" element, but unfortunately, I haven't been told in what way it is better. I imagine I'll find out tomorrow.

| I haven't been able to prise any more details out of anyone either, so I can only speculate. I DO suspect that someone on this thread is quite close, but that is only me guessing. So yes, we'll find out tomorrow. It does seem that the club is making a very real and serious attempt to stop the rot, and to start the - hopefully rapid -recovery.
So I do hope the sceptics and the cynics, the disillusioned and the Debased will suspend their scepticism and cynicism, their disillusionment and Debasement, to at least give a fair hearing to what the club has to say? I'm going into tomorrow looking for an uplifting announcement. We need it. I really hope - I believe - we'll get it.
And then think about it some, and then extend that suspension until we see what next year's squad is starting to look like? And only THEN decide whether its to be more or the same, or more of something rather better?

| How about this?
The Maxi-Mini package. How much you pay depends on the uptake of season tickets. The club will have an idea of how much they want to make so set a maximum price based on this year's numbers. You won't pay anymore than that but if more people buy a season ticket the price comes down, but falls no lower than a minimum price.
It would't necessarily mean you'd sell 8000 tickets at a lower price and only generate the same revenue as 6000 at a higher price as the reduction would ensure more revenue for the club but still at a discount to ticket holders.
Example:
Ground ticket £160. 6000 tickets = £960,000. 7000 tickets gets a £10 reduction, revenue is £1,050,045. 8000 tickets gets a £15 reduction, revenue is £1,160,000.
This encourages people to spread the word and invite new supporters.
Tickets sold at maximum price with refunds credited if required at the end of the promotion.
Would that work?

| according to mick gledhill, who's already up at odsal, schem is like this.
if you go to game with a season ticket holder you get reduced entry. if additional person then they pay £15, 2 additional people £12, 3 additional people £10.
whilst I can see it raising attendances, I cant see any benefit to buying a season ticket if this is all there is to scheme. ay as well just get one season ticket for each group of people that go and everyone else in group gets in cheap. unless theres more to it like maybe points going onto teamcard off season ticket holder so they effectively get the reduction in price as well.
suspect if this the scheme then micks got it a bit garbled tbh.
