The length of deal might suggest that the club also see this signing as a bit of punt. Certainly seems his best Football was a few seasons ago and we're looking for him to recapture some of it in SL. Like all new players he will get my support and I hope he proves to be a good addition to our club.

As the squad stands it looks like we'll be scrapping around anywhere between 7th-12th next year. Just hope Potter can inspire some motivation in this group to give their all for the club in each game. Every club has games they would like to forget, we just had too many of them once again last year. Elima to lead the way next year?

Looks a good signing (althoughi know its a highlights video), 6ft 5 he certainly looks difficult to put down. He's not a Paleaaesina type wrecking ball, but he looks to ahve a good off load and looks to have superb footwork for a prop and is no slouch for a prop. Which hopefully means we will get more than 10 minute spells from him. I know some fans wanted Cuthertson, but how many Aussie propr shave come ober here and being a "success", not many. I'm very pleased with the signing. I would finish my recruitment now. Squad looks bettert than last year anyways.

Who knows! It was a question I sent in for the forum that wasn't answered! I suspect Francis Cummins will have been interviewed for some of the recent head coach vacancies so that might have had a bearing on his decision to stay or not.

The news that Morrison went to Batley for the assistant role might suggest we are not looking for any additions to the coaching staff though?

My advise to Manase to win over the Bulls crowd is to flatten someone in pre season and maybe pick up a red card! Might seem a strange request but I hope to god he has some aggression to his game! We could certainly do with some aggression in our pack.

That will certainly be a factor in the 1 yr deal. Other aspect is that our other quota players are all on longer deals so this gives us some scope next year if burgess and kopczak continue to improve and we have a pressing need in another position.
That said interesting that he's eligible for a Tongan passport which would get him off the overseas quota. Combined with rfl now treating any player who played in SL prior to 2008 as fed trained, irrespective of if they've since returned to Nrl, means we still could bring in another overseas player although it would have to be one who's played in SL prior to 2008.

This new lad's a good call for that signing because he is seen as Lynch's replacement but I think Purtell's a good call.

When you think about it I think you might be on to something. But will the ball be anywhere near Purtell for him to make any mistakes? I don't think it will. I reckon Gale will get it this year.
