| No thread for this game? Gutted about the result. But I thought the first half especially was class! Some periods of soft defending too.
The Chisholm intercept could have gone either way. Get that ball out half second quicker and our winger has space. To be fair, any other player except Chisholm for me doesn’t get that. The guy can read a game well.

| I sat down and said to the daughter that if we stayed within 20 points I'd be happy and left thinking if only Keyes had have made it...
I really needed a game like that as I'd been losing interest lately. We've had some really boring games this year.

| Yeah gutted with the result. Thought Fev were there for the taking. I know Fev were missing a fair few and played the week before, but we were also missing our 6,7 and 9. If we had just one of Lilley, Brough or Doyle, think we would have come on the right side of that result.
Just need to be more clinical in defence. The two tries from dummy half were sickeners to concede.
They're a good team are Featherstone this year.

| Was it Hall that took out Keyes? Perfect professional foul. Defends his line, dislodges the ball, concusses the opposition’s main creative player, concedes the penalty and takes a yellow card. Gutted

Also pulled back pickers when he was off the ball for the full length try looks a real grub shame when he has real ability

Think grubs very harsh. Just took a gamble holding Pickersgill back. It's 50/50 being sin-binned for for professional fouls these days (which is a farce) so it's just smart play to take the risk.
Can't really see whay happened with Keyes from the highlights. Obviously contact with head as he's being concussed but it didn't look malicious to me.
The incident I did find frustrating was the Ferres headbutt. I mean the linesman a metre away and has a perfect view. I don't like bagging refs as without them there's no game and with shortages already starting to happen we need to be respectful (I actually thought the referee was good yesterday and seemed to let the game flow)
But while I can appreciate they don't see everything, and can accept missed knock-ons, forward passes etc acts of foul play they should be getting right, tough judges missing those incidents right in front of them particularly frustrates me.
To says we're RFLs pets, I can't remember the last time we had a player sent off against us and we've had plenty of incidents deserving of reds. The assault on Keyes a couple of years a go against Dewsbury sticks in my mind.

| Just seen the highlights and I’m shocked just for how soft 4 of their tries were. Both of Harrisons and Nu Browns were all soft rook defending or poor first contact!

Agreed. Our defence has been a little flaky this season, considering how much JK prides his teams on their defence, its quite surprising. But it's something we need to improve on as they were very soft some of their tries that they didn't really have to work for.

Worst one I've seen for a long time was that. Should've been a straight red for Walshaw that day. It wasn't and the game descended into violence as players took matters into their own hands as a result. It was like going back in time to the 80s. Who was ref that day?

100% this. It's atrocious. And 3 of them in the 15 mins after half time which undid all the good work.
Clear head butt in front of linesman. Brown knocked on for his first try in front of same linesman. Keyes should have sent DFJ away. Fantastic shape, line and passing for Evans try - why don't we do this more?
Davies, Halton and Harrison outstanding for them. England our best signing for a while. Lots of effort but some of the defending was dire.

| Coulda shoulda woulda for me.
I never really expected a win so wasn't exactly devastated to lose, though it was poor defence which let us down, defence which has been, fairly mixed at times but largely good this season.
Anyone else totally surprised that two professional sides would let in 66 points on a narrow field like that?

Think it was Liam Moore if I remember correctly, who has just refereed the cup final I believe.
Yeah that game was a total disgrace and I don't think I've come away from a game more angry than that. It was the touch judge who I was more furious with. He conveniently missed Keyes being knocked out, he was getting some right stick from the crowd as a result. A minute after that incident he came on waving his flag dramatically over a technical infringement by us. Classy.

I agree with this as for the pitch I think it's an optical illusion.

I don’t think so unless we get a surprise return which would be pushing someone too soon.
We had a few fail late fitness tests so you would hope they would be back but we are likely to be without much direction this weekend and with fax bang in form I am expecting a fax win

I would have fancied our chances more 3 weeks ago but our last couple of games we have not been great. I still hope home advantage will be enough but I won't lie Im going to fancy our chances more if you don't have any recognised half backs.

| It's always a tight game vs Fax but without anyone with a decent kicking game or anyone capable of dictating play we'll struggle.

Well, you've every reason to fancy your chances and our half-back situation only adds to that. The Bulls are, sort of, tantalising us a bit with the notion that Jordan Lilley might be fit but I think it's a bit too early to be honest.
Maybe they're just trying to put doubt in your minds, maybe he really is getting better a bit quicker than thought - I dunno. A broken rib is a broken rib and he'd be very brave/stupid to play before it's ready. I'm far from sure just one half would get us the points anyway - as long as the lads picked do their best, no one can complain.

Agree and if Lilley does play I’m sure he will be tested to see just how much that rib has healed. And I don’t mean that in a ‘grub’ way just smart competitive play.
I can’t see us beating fax at the shay with one, half fit, half so I wouldn’t risk it.

| Lilley has generally struggled when he is given the role of leading the side round pitch and controlling the game, he is much more effective when he is free to play his own game. Unless he is 100% there seems little point risking him in a game that isn’t that important in the grand scheme of things. I know teams below Fev and Toulouse are battling for that 3rd spot but for Bradford to make any impression on the play offs we need our key men fit at the end of the year.
Fax will be fired up for this one and I think it probably means a bit more to the their fans so usually they put on a good performance at home, so a victory seems unlikely in our current injury situation.

| Plenty of effort apart from line defence. England has got to be our best signing this season. Once again Oakes offered very little from centre and we really need Kear playing there asap. Also I don't remember Hamlett getting a pass all afternoon.

| Oakes has great hands and usually gets his winger away. It's his main strength. Not sure whether he's had enough ball to do this. He's not a running threat - never has been.
Can't see beyond a Fax win this weekend. We just need to make it difficult for them by improving the defence, which is a bit of a worry given we played on our postage stamp sized pitch.

Oakes got very little ball in an attacking position but watch his defense on the video, one on one was excellent and kept Kris Wellam quiet. If the ball came left he might get chance to show what he can do instead of always on the right side when we attack. His runs out of defense were once again strong.

| He just doesn"t do it for me. I do agree he has great hands for his winger but I think a centre should be able to beat a player either by strength, speed or good footwork. Oakes very rarely does any of that. I think we would be better cultivating him in the 2nd row. As far as bringing the ball out of defence he"s ok but that's not really a centres job, that's what forwards are for.
