| Ross seems to think that Koukash still wants to buy Bradford, thoughts?
Would Green sell? I certainly can't see them as partners. But I don't see much long term future for the Bulls as a full time club without a rich backer.

| I take it you saw him with Derek in the Leigh dugout at the end. Thought that odd even though he was a guest of Dereks this afternoon.

| He seems like he has calmed down a lot recently, I'd think he would have a better time with us regards to a fan base and past history.
Always on to a loser at Salford as the fans just don't seem interested not sure the reason but since the move from the willows the average attendance must hover around 2000 (not sure of the exact figure and tbh I can't be d looking).
Think if green could get his money back then he would leave happy and hopefully take ferris with him, get some rugby minds around koucash and if he left the team to the coaching staff he could be what we crave.

| I think he has demonstrated even throwing money at players, and coaches doesn't necessarily get you success, and it would be hard to imagine him having the patience for years in the championship

| Think he's learned from last year tbf, salfords team this year was full a younger players and no one gave them a chance but they surprised a few.
If he does pull the plug then I can't see Salford surviving.

| It would make sense, Bradford are a BIG CLUB, where as Salford manage home fans around the 2K mark, despite him having assembled a decent squad for them....but If he wanted to sell his Salford ownership, who would want it ? Looks like he's stuck with them....

Wasn't there a Salford knights group at one point who looked to buy but koukash took over instead.

| I'm undecided. If we were an SL team I'd want Green..he's an astute businessman and has actually done a brilliant job with the club. Lowes and Ferres had plenty of money to spend. Unfortuantely they utterly wasted it. They're the reason we're in this mess not Green. We've the right people running the academy and they're flourishing. Green kept the acadmies and the appointment of John Bastian was a masterstroke.
But we are now in the dire situation of playing in the championship shield and central funding of £150k. Green doesn't have the finances to make up the shortfall.
Koukash has calmed down a lot and has seemed to have taken more of a back seat. But he has the brass needed to pump into a club if they are to climb Everest and somehow get out of this divsion.
Sadly it looks like if you want someone to pump money into the club, we may have to accept them being a bit of a div.

| IMHO the best thing that [i*Both*[/i Bradford & Salford could do (apart from Bulls having a better squad/more £££) is to expedite vacating those stadiums ASAP.
Both Odsal (terrible stadium in disrepair & a poor viewing experience) & the AJ Bell (wrong place & in Salford by postcode but hated by their fans) seem to be dragging the clubs down, or at least contributing).
While I don't profess to have the definitive answer & from the outside looking in, Salford should look to build nearer to central Salford & ground share with either Swinton or FC United.
Bradford is a much more difficult proposition in that they don't have a Koukash. Odsal is a horror show *as was Hilton Park, though we loved the place & as was Knowsley Road*, surely a purpose built Stadium, capacity c14,000 - 15,000 near to central Bradford is the way forward ?
There will be large swathes of brownfield land that both sets of fans are aware of that could fit the bill.
Having said all of this, I don't think it would be a piece of cake by any means.
The first question being, are Bradford contractually bound to a let on their Stadia for example.
I just wonder what both Bradford & Salford fans views on this are & look forward to hearing them.

| My view on the Koukash thing at the time was that if he was in anyway serious about buying the Bulls a couple of years ago via his wife then he would have done. IMO he was never really that serious about it, and he does seem to attach himself to any “big” RL story going, so to me it seemed a bit of self-publicity. His wife said that she would be happy to assist the club even when Green took over, if the club ever looked at that or it wasn’t ever a serious offer I guess we’ll never know.
The one thing I do think is that Koukash genuinely does like us as a club (he seems to have made his peace with Green) and as fans – I think he probably does look at us as a “what if”. However, something tells me that that it’s even more unlikely than last time – he’s best buddies with Uncle Derek at Leigh (which is a big enough warning sign for me to begin with), even if he did pack it in at Salford, I do think some kind of partnership or takeover at Leigh may be more likely. Would like to know how this story came about, Mick is reporting a similar thing on Twitter. Did Dr K just announce it, or is it the old journalists trick of saying “would you ever think about taking over the Bulls” and he said “Yes, maybe one day”. With Koukash you never know!

I can't currently see any scenario where we move away from Odsal and continue as a club similar to how we are now. We'd have to be back in Super League and pretty stable financially. I agree, it's a logical argument, but sports fans aren't logical. I know folk who packed it in when we moved to Valley Parade and never came back, despite winning the treble on our return to Odsal.
Don't think we'll get any sort of new stadium whilst we are in the Championship, unless our hand is forced financially - it'll be a decision not of our choosing.

| We've needed a new ground for decades now but it's never materialised. The closest we came was in the early 2000s which was on the cards until that ar5e Stephen Byers stuck his nose in and turned it down. Given what happened since I suspect some very funny business involved in that decision.

| I think to blame it on our fans is a bit of a cheap spot i mean we haven't had much to get excited by. Our first home game at the AJ Bell attracted a decent crowd of 6,000 but as the season went on and we were shown up the masses dwindled. Then came the Koukash problems of getting too involved and unsettling players. Then there was the money problems of not paying players and now the salary cap breaches. It's been an absolute circus which combined with poor results hasn't been a pull for many fans which i personally know. i think a departure of Koukash maybe the best thing for both parties with a new investor coming in which i'm sure koukash would make sure we had. Also seems strange as Koukash has always said he intends to finish up in Aus and he's still very interested in the Titans. So if he goes anywhere i'm sure it be down under.

| Koukash was punching the air when the hooter went. Why? Leigh have the top place tied up. I immediately thought that he was pleased that Bradford and Green were about to miss out on the top 4 and the money that goes with it. Salford have missed out on their top 8 because of the points deduction through Green. I would rather leave him alone as I see him as a loose cannon.

Swinton is in Salford & FC Utd's roots are Old Trafford *very edge of Salford*, they do not have to play where they play (Swinton used to play at Leigh) & it would reduce costs for either to share with Salford *FC United being the most likely*.
It's about common sense & cost sharing + facilities & location.
This would all be irrelevant if Salford were contractually locked in to the AJ Bell.

Not for me. It's a game for him. I'd rather have somebody like Green who is passionate about the club.
I don't care which ground we play at, what division we play or what colours we wear. Bradford are my local team and I won't stop supporting them because of and for anything.

All true, but if Swinton's facilities aren't fit for the Championship, I would put my house on them not been fit for Super League!

That would be two very large ego's and two very big gobs to accommodate in one boardroom. I can't imagine either of them being happy to compromise on a decision and not having the final say.
My thoughts are that I think Greem has been great for the club and I think he as steadied the ship well and slowly confidence in the running of the club is returning. The brushes with HMRC bring back the doubt though and I do wonder whether realistically he would either need to partner with another wealthy individual or sell up to similar wealthy individual to see us remain FT or possibly challenge for promotion.
Whether that mystery individual is actually out there and looking to throw some cash away at our club is perhaps unlikely.

| An interesting contrast between the RFL and NRL in policing the salary cap. Parramatta docked 12 points, fined 1 million dollars and 5 senior officials having their credentials withdrawn( effectively sacked). From the chairman to the director of rugby ( Daniel Anderson).
Obviously no two cases are the same and there's no relegation in the NRL but together with the Melbourne Storm case a few years ago, this shows how the salary cap should be administered.
I'm not holding my breath expecting the RFL to adopt this attitude. Their more likely response may be to agree with Phil Clarke and propose the scrapping of the cap.
