From time to time there will inevitably be hidden gems to uncover in lower league Aussie rugby. Its just that our track record is well off the boil at the moment. Last year we inexplicably thought the Mackay Cutters was worth raiding a few times.

Last years 3 from Mackay weren't also expected to be first choice in their position, let alone arguably the most important position in the team in terms of getting them around the field. Last years 3 were a gamble we could afford to take in the hope of uncovering a gem, if he is to be our only scrum half then he needs to be proven IMO

I haven't seen the lad pull on a shirt so all I can do is hope for the best if true. Can't help feel disappointed that we haven't attracted anyone with a proven track record in this country though. Well, yeah he could. The problem is that the more you go down the ability chain, the more there are of that standard. Very few 'world class' players but hundreds, if not thousands, of 'nearly but not quites'. And worse, If we're fishing from youtube it's a very murky pond.
