I saw him eating a hog roast sandwich after the second half kicked off. . He was walking up to the ticket office.

But a gabbling announcer isn't fit for purpose, surely roger? Most of the time you can hardly tell a word he shouts. He wouldn't be quite so bad if he just spoke a little more clearly and cut out the [presumably faux 'down with the lads in the pub' accent. Oh for the days of David Laine, who just spoke clearly and distinctly.

That seems to be the main criticism from where I sit, not only from fans either?
It's like living in the crowded Working Mens Club atmosphere...I keep expecting him to say " THE PIES HAVE ARRIVED, GIVE US THE PEAS" in a progessively louder voice and a Lancashire accent!!!

He's doing presumably what the club want him to do. Must be one of the least thankful tasks around, trying to create a good buzz around a stadium occupied by 5000 depressed and apprehensive lambs simply awaiting the next slaughter.

If they were to get rid of anything then it should be the absurd playing of jolly singalong music when we score to make it 4 - 50

Has anyone noticed that Alex is talking normally, then ever so quitely he'll say something like "Hail Satan, kill all who stand in your way"? And then on the way home you find yourself attacking a stranger and coming to in a terrified haze, blood dripping across your face?

He sounds amateur. He sounds like a very bad DJ or one of those people who run the Waltzers. There must be hundreds who could do a better job.
