Doesn't deserve a pay packet this week. Absolutely pathetic display from him. Completely shirked his responsibilities. Never seen so many missed tackles from a second rower! How many times did Catalans collect the ball in their 10, run across the field and just run passed him like he wasn't there. Not first time he's had a defensive display like that!!!! And why did Cummins keep him out there for so long!!!

thought he played well in the first half. didn't see all the missed tackles he made, but thought he was okay

I did think he was on about 5mins too long in the 2nd half and looked v tired. The gap between him and Gale was rather too inviting at times. That said, when Langley replaced him that gap was there again.

He missed 3 or 4 in the first half, luckily he was saved as there were other players around him, but he was left on the floor plenty of times. The second half Webb ran passed him TWICE to gain 40m when he should have been nailed. I just dont rate him personally, attacking wise he offers little. No offload game and his tackling is questionable. Today was one of his worst performances.

I honestly thought his defensive display was on par with Worrincy.

I think he’s worth bearing with. He’s a young player who’ll get better with experience and is a long way from the finished product. I know his junior coach and he says he has all the tools to make it as a SL player. On yesterday’s performance I’d say Donaldson is in better form.

Tom's a steady young player who will mature into a solid second rower - His dip in form is understandable given his start to the season.

Some people have short memories on here, I think he was worth a new deal and he'll come good.

Given our limited squad several of our younger players have probably had more game time this year than would be ideal at this stage of their careers. So hats off to them for fronting up. OK there are some areas that need work but I don 't think they warrant some comments being dished out not everyone will be a Beaver or a Hanley

7 missed tackles from the weekend, not good enough for a second rower, particularly one who offers no attack. Addy & Whitehead (when he was here) probably get away with poor defending as they offer something in attack, Olbison doesn't. He only made 41m all game.

Similar age to when Jamie Peacock started to look like he could play a bit, IIRC

...and Kevin Ward too.

Not that I think Olbison is going to reach those heights but I think we need to recognise that he deserves a bit of leeway. With Blythe likely to be fit for the Cas match I'd expect him to be given a break.

It's a pity that someone whose son is a professional at another club sees fit to comment in this way about a young player. You won't like it when it happens to your lad; and it will. It's you that is the disgrace.

Tom is a PROFESSIONAL rugby league player. Doesn't matter how old you are in any job, if your not doing your job properly you get told. Fans pay players wages so they have every right to criticise. As RedVee said, Tom is not a young player. He has been in the 1st team for four years now. 7 missed tackles and 41m gained is not good enough for a second rower. Winning teams set high standards.

And every player’s allowed to have a bad game from time to time. If those stats are correct then they’re not good enough. He seems a level headed lad so he’ll expect criticism where it’s deserved, which it is in this case.

However, Olbison’s had some good moments too this year, his tries last week at Wakey and away at Leeds were good and showed he can read the game and make an impact.

We’ve had worse players in the second row in the past 4 years.

Tom was playing injured Sunday wasn't at his best, but having a small squad is hurting us a lot of the lads playing when still not fully fit so I take my hat off to the guy

But of course people don't want to see that. They only want to criticise. Tom runs really good lines and often, unnoticed by a lot of people, it is his runs that open the gaps for the tries.

I've not read anywhere he was injured, nor did he appear to be "strapped up".

Look at Elima, and Paea, they had more strapping than a mummy.

Tom may run good lines, but so did Worrincy (in fact I thought he was an excellent line runner) but I think we're really clutching at straws if that's the only attributes we can think of. It's a contact sport.

I'm not a fan who criticises players every mistake they make. However I was genuinely livid as a fan watching his performance on Sunday. The stats showed it was a very very poor performance.

It's not his first bad performance, he had a similar defensive shocker against Leeds at home abd hudds at MM. Needs to cut them out.

Olbison is much better than Worrincy.
