Very strange - this would normally be a huge piece of "good news" - trailed then announced with a fanfare by the club and the T&A.

No mention of the new contract either... I think this was to be in the T&A at some point later in the week if you ask me.

It appears from Kearney's quotes in the League Express he believes that his current contract runs through to 2014, with his option to cancel it at the end of 2013 and return to Australia.
He is saying only that he will not take up his option.
