I've been dying for this thread.

I'm going to start with a hunch - Rob Burrow (unless he signed elsewhere whilst I was on holiday) - I can't see why he's not announced somewhere.

I think we'll be looking in the lower leagues/academy players who've been released/journeymen SL player bracket for the moment. Omar Khan's not made of money and we will probably be without some of the central funding IIRC.

Fielden

Fielden and murrell are two names I keep hearing linked with us.

Need to know who out off current squad are staying before we know where we need to strengthen.

Sign up who we can/who we want from our own squad, 1st team and U20's first. Then have a look where we have the biggest gaps.

Would be the types we need next year, been there done that. Murrell especially versatile.

According to the MEN we are linked with Luke Adamson from Salford.

Fielden would have to be cheap and fit for it to be a good move. I suspect if Noble makes a return in some capacity it'll be nailed on.

Murrell might be a bit tubby and past his best but he'd provide a bit of cover at LF or SO.

Wouldn't he be non fed trained? We don't have a space (provided Lulia, Purtell, Kearney, L'Estrange and Manuakafoa are signed up).

Sign everybody off contract up first. Even the ones with lesser ability. Then plug the gaps with other signings/youngsters. Don't register Purtell yet. Sammut/Gale as halfbacks with Southernwood as backup. Stranger/Diskin/O'Brien/Windley as hookers. Need some forwards so we have Manuokafoa, Scruton, McAvoy and Joseph but I would push Langley to prop this year. Bateman/Donaldson at LF. Olbison/Whitehead/Bateman/Murphy at 2nd Row.

Buy Murrell and Fielden. Possibly Adamson who has SL experience.

Windley has been released mate with the whole u19s thing

Is this releasing of players 19 and over a whole SL thing, or just the Bulls.
Did we have any in the U20's or whatever it was really capable of stepping up?

Luke is English. I have heard nothing about an player coming in. Last rumour i heard was Gale to Castleford. Fielden back to the Bulls seems like something that could happen.

Not finishing bottom looks like the goal for 2013.

I was told Leeds have released all players over 19 without a squad number. There's only a u19 comp next year if i remember right.

Whole of super league. I'm not sure how many over age can play though. If you're not good enough to sign full-time by 19 then you're out...Shocking

Curt better get signed up to 19's. Best young fullback at the club tbh. He'll be the sucessor to Kearney I rekon.

Just for the avoidance of doubt - Luke Gale isn't going anywhere.

Omar and Gerry see him as the key pivot to build the side around and also realise that we have a distinct lack of British Super League quality halves to adequately replace, compensate the team with.

What's the point of not registering Purtell? If we use his quota spot on someone else we won't be able to play him unless we deregister/release another overseas player mid season.

Omar and Gerry may have this opinion, but he can leave ala Koppy.

Priorities should be:

New Coach!
New deals for Nas/Addy/Donaldson/McAvoy/Ainscough
Contract extension for Bateman
Sort out the mess with Koppy one way or another
New Prop(s) - new deal for Joseph as a last resort

Only had 2 weeks to decide not to stick with bradford, which is up today, unless he is now sold he cant just sign elsewhere.

We should just pillage Wakefield. Just to annoy them.
