Not sure TBH Im swaying toward this, although I would like to see Olbi stake a claim this season, I'm not sure moving EW to centre is the best thing to do, even though he's played well there.

only 18 fit 'first team' players. why arent we doing what other clubs do and drafting players in from u20's squad?.

Maybe because none of them are good enough given the tonkings they are getting week by week? Maybe that Murphy kid or McAvoy kid would have been in had they not been injured.

Maybe. doesnt say much about our youth system if theres not one player even close to SL level though. Other possibility that struck me is maybe theres another injured player close to a comeback and we're keeping a squad place free and naming him on the day. Didnt think koppy was due back for a few weeks yet.

I agree it is slightly worrying that we've not put an U20's player in. It seems to me we choose the ones who will make it early on, make them full time and have the rest to make up the numbers. You never know one of them might step up

Wouldn't putting someone into the 19 at least give one of the U20s a taste of the preparation and atmosphere on a SL Gameday. Even if they had no intention of playing him, that would have had a value surely?

On the hand, the U20s were hammered 50-6 by Leeds U20s this afternoon.

So they obviously don't have a load of lads pushing for first team inclusion

It will be a nice gesture for you all to give our team a standing ovation, but I think chanting "There's only one Steve O'Connor " would be more fitting. Especially as it was him who pledged the £10,000 out of his own pocket, and donated the 600 free tickets.

I think they have, they are listed as first teamers on Bulls website. Both injured currently though.

Bateman is technically eligible for the u18's! The u20's who are already at SL standard are in the first team squad covering for injuries, which is why two or three of our better u18's are covering for the u20's at the moment. This does leave the u20's vulnerable though.
