Briggs - like i said to Mick before the game, he has the best kicking game at the club. Hope he gets a fair crack next season.

We looked far more danderous with Briggs out there than we have done with Herbert and while I was a Herbert supporter along with Mick Potter, when looking back at the big picture it has been detrimental and the wrong option to have persisted with Herbert.

His kicking game in the limited game time (his games against Halifax, Wigan and Salford) he's had this year has seen us dominate possession in the oppositions half giving us that territorial edge.

Very honourable mentions to a very brave O'Brien - very much looking like one for the future, superb attitude, like the way he raced back into the defensive line) and a very effective-looking Briggs, who was a breath of fresh air. Olivier looked the candidate early doors, and had a very good game, and Langley got through a load of work. Great to see a keen Ainy back too.

I remember looking at the clock thinking Lynch hasn't been on a while, and his runs showed from it that he needs the break. Much more of a hassle to defenders and a clearer head on when to give the offload.

I'm keeping my own counsel on the Lynch story. But it DID strike me as potentially quite a significant coincidence that he gets to play a "normal" prop stint for the first time in ages, it seems, rather than a 70-minute slogathon - and we saw the results - in the same week this tale is doing the rounds?
