| I still don't think we should be playing Sibbit in the first team, injuries permitting. I would much rather see Whitehead, Olbison and Donaldson be picked before he is.
As for Platt, he looked ok in the warm up but I can only assume he had a slight niggle. Simply dropping him would have been a bizarre decision to say the least.

| T&A article annoucing the team said Sibbit was injured and Platt dropped.
I disagree about Sibbit he has turned his performances around and I think the extra weight and experience showed in the Wigan game with him, Elima and Langley.

| I'd find it extraordinary if Platt was flat out dropped, rather than being stood down because of a niggle or something.
I mean, we had a scratch back line to the say the least, with people playing out of position. To be fair the guys did OK for the most part. But dropping our first choice centre, when we simply didn't have ready made replacements would be an astonishing decision
If true, I imagine Platt must be feeling like someone just kicked him in the gut - he lost out to a second rower and a bloke who is clearly a winger

| it must have been a real clanger given Platts performance last week, so like everybody else I can only assume either a niggle like Sibbit OR Potter was so confident having read Millwards win prediction he decided to rest him for next week...

| Platt: would hope it was a niggle from the warm up and not him being dropped? dont see what he has done to warrant the latter?

| Platt might have carried the can for the tries we've leaked down that side? His defence hasn't been great!
Sibbit isn't a first 17 player when Langley and Elima are fit!

| Very strange if Platt was dropped
He has been very good lately and like others have said arguably didnt have a 3/4 playing in his 'preferred' position

He's played well recently, much better than for instance Donaldson who appears to be a player who is struggling at the moment. Some good D but his carries are weak. This hasn't been an issue with sibbit

Ive thought that for a while. His severe lack of size and weight seems to be drastically reducing his impact carrying the ball. And he doesn't seem to have the skills to play a role similar to Kevin Sinfield. I really dont think he's the player he was made out to be. Addy seems much better IMO.

Donaldson was poor yesterday.
He looked absolutely gutted when he was dragged off. He'd only been on for a very short spell, made no impact and as he trudged down the touchline he had the body language of someone who knew that he'd blown an opportunity.

I'm thinking the same regarding Donno. He's not a damging runner or particularly good with ball in hand and he's not a solid defender either. He's feeling his way back I know but I do have reservations. He's certainly been overtaken by Olbison and Addy whilst not much better defensively offers much more in attack.
That said from the look on Donno's face when he was subbed he knows how much he has to improve.

| Donaldson has been a let down but only really due to the hype surrounding him. Not that I really listen to him, but I remember phil Clarke on sky saying donno could be the best player in super league. A big statement towards a teenager. Hope he progresses sooner rather than later.

| And I don't really care for sibbit. Platt being dropped seems a bit strange, not that I think he is an amazing centre but at the moment one of our best options.

| The back row against Wigan was Sibbit Elima and Langley and they did a decent job, as did Platt, so I am all for keeping in form players in the team.
Donaldson was out for all preseason and the first few games in a massively changed squad with a new coach and plays and defensive system, and of course other coaches know his game better after the games he had before injury. So I am not expecting him to be back to his best just yet, talent stays form comes and goes, if he really has the talent form will follow. He wasnt even in the 19. It will be interesting to see how the competition between him and Addy work out when both are up to full match sharpness, because thats what we need

He's also coming back from a very serious injury which I'd guess has much to do with current form. The way he played pre-injury suggests he has a lot to offer and has skills in abundance, just now I must agree he isn't really putting it together and will have to be given time.

| I thought Donaldson had a really good game against Halifax, it was a shame he didn't perform on Sunday but I'd put that down to a bad day at the office. Happens to us all. When he came back from the injury, it was noted that he just slotted into the first team with no problems whatsoever.
I've no concerns about Donaldson, I think he will be a good player for Bradford for a few years.

| Platt's Twitter feed yesterday mentioned sleeping for about 15 hours (or something - I was out and about and only paying a little attention, as I would always do for stuff like that).
Suggests that he might have been poorly?

Think you're being abit harsh. He's not played aswell as last year but then it was a major injury. If we hadn't needed to play him in the first team I'd expect he'd have spent quite awhile in the u20s getting back into it.
He should be dropped back to the u20s now if Addy is back but we should be keeping him. Has great potential just hasn't got back up to speed after the injury imo.
There was alot of hype around him, some of it over the top but most of it justified, he had been putting in excellent performances last year.

| Donno has played no different after injury than he did before he got injured. That is, decentish defence, poor attack. It's just what he is, an average youngster. This prodigy & best player in super league is massively wide of the mark. I would think many of Donaldson fans are still hooked on the hype that Steve Mac and Paul Medley ramped him up with. I dont rate him. If he comes great, then brill, we've got another great player on the books. If he doesn't then big deal, he doesnt offer us anything anyway because he's a poor player at the moment.

To be fair, he offers an awful lot more on the pitch than you do on this board.

Donno is coming back from potentially the worst injury of his career. He'll need more then 6 games to get back up to speed, hell we might not even see him hit his best for another season or two. I think the fact he was picked for the England Knights squad after not even playing a single games speaks volumes.
He reminds me a lot of Jamie Langley during his early years at Bradford. It took him a few seasons to get up to speed and look at him now.
