| Isit just me , or has mcnamara ballsed up our club?
Me for 1 if we dont make the top 8 wont be getting a season ticket next year . why should i pay 200+ to get a season ticket then travell expensies and food and drink. So maybe 500 pound over a week to watch that s**t play. When i can just go to wibsey park to watch the warriors do the same thing but actually win a game.
Can see our club dyeing in 5 years to come.

| From a poorly written post, you can often derive good sentiments.
The fans or glory supporters are not to blame. Those responsible for ru(i)nning the club are. In the 1996 - 2006 era we did not use the money that the "Glory supporters" brought in, well enough. We, as a club failed to see that the way we were spending money was not sustainable, and as a consequence financially and on the playing field, we are struggling.
However, the much used "only spending x% of the cap is killing us" argument is only part of the story. yesterday we were beaten by a Cas team who are spending less on players than we are! so a quite even match between two clubs spending similar money.
So where do we go next?
I was at the club last week, and i left feeling terrible for Andrea the store manager. She must get sick of fronting up to fans who are moaning about everything the club does. The club has cut back in every department. So what can we do? If we care, instead of ranting on here, think of solutions. Realistic ones that are either very cheap or free.
My first suggestion is that we use volounteers to staff anything we can. How many of us would put in a couple of hours a week in exchange for a free ticket for a mate, or a fiver off voucher at the club shop?
Present Hood and Duckett with solutions, not problems, and see where we go.
Secondly, we need to get the club in the media more. It is always very quiet and nothing seems to come from the club anymore. they need to be proactive. Get players at the opening of an envelope, get them involved in local clubs and charities...anything, but take the club to the people and make a big deal of it!
Be positive....its monday!

| Have we not tried to give the club solutions? Is there not a thread on here full of them? Have they taken any notice?
Another example...on Saturday it was my school's Summer Fair. We contacted the club ages ago asking for a player to come and open it. No players were available. With a game on Sunday - fair enough I guess. So they said they would send Bullboy. He would stay for an hour so children could get photos. We really pushed this at school. Did he come? Did he f***?
So a simple, free opportunity for a bit of good publicity, to give out some stickers and tickets gone and instead more negative press and bad feelings. Truely awful community work.

You are quite right the club has gone quite because Hood and the rest of them know we are not happy with the performances, so no news is good news as far as they are concerned. There seems to be very little active progression form the board, they can not even keep us up to date with how the search fro a new manager is going.

So you started going in 2005 when we won the GF? Now you've seen us go downhill, you're not prepared to watch because you've worked out that we're not likely to win anything.
But you're not a glory supporter.

If you put a negative spin on everything.
Look at the number of players who we've given SL debuts, look at the ones in the squad who have big futures. We have alot of good youngsters coming through who will help our club get back near the top.
You should stick around to see that happen, then you may feel even better about it if we get some silverware back at Odsal.

| Our Club is still second to none on this planet, I love the club and have a great deal of respect for the vast majority of its supporters and am proud of its past achievements but over the past few years it has employed some poor personnel.
A Club/Company/Organisation is only as good as the people who work for it.
McNamara has proved to be one of those incompetent employees with a lot of power within the club. I am sure he always tried his best but his best has proved to be not good enough. Our great club needs to change some members of its personnel and should start today by thanking McNamara for his efforts & parting company. Our club will bounce back because the true supporters will not let it die, a better manager, a couple of changes on the pitch and in time the good times will return.

I have done a huge amount of voluntary work in the past, so was sceptical about what could be achieved through another fans organisation. Apart from the Burgii sponsorship what has been achieved relative to the amount of hours put in by willing supporters? I t would need total commitment from the club to make the partnership work, possibly they don't believe it would be worth that effort in the long run?

| I wasnt thinking about a fans organisation where it is basically a talking shop where fans moan about what needs doing, then the club says it cant afford it etc....( i am definitely over simplyfying this and underselling the efforts of BISA and Bullbuilder)
i was talking about offering to do a couple of hours painting the terracing, or manning the phones, even stewarding on matchdays. things that people can do that currently costs the club money.

| I guess the problem with volunteering for say something like Stewarding is ensuring enough numbers actually turned up!
I'd gladly volunteer some of my trade skills for the club. But I doubt more than a handful would turn up.

| Don't get me wrong, the idea of a community club where everyone pitches in is my idea of heaven. It just seems alien to major RL clubs (AFAIK). Yawnion shamateur clubs seem to manage quite well, one of the very few things they could teach us.

Skip the bad days, let somebody else pay for building up to the good days if they can. If not, and the club folds - well, who gives a shi =#FFFFFF[size=5.[/sizet? Answer - that's exactly the difference between a fan and a glory supporter.
And before you think I'm having a go - I'm not. I don't actually like the term "glory supporter", nobody has any obligation to go to games or indeed to spend their hard earned on anything at all. No, the difference is that a true supporter has an emotional attachment to the club, so they will tend to stick by it through the bad times, and the casual extras is what you hope to attract in numbers when times are good, but always recognising that they're just there for the good times.

Good idea from the club imo.

I would say you are having a go. It is highly unlikely right throughout the clubs history any fans started to going when the team were playing poor. If some of these fans then decide that their money is better spent elsewhere that is their call. If they have put their money in to the club then they have a right to an opinion, it is up to the club to have a review of the last 3 - 4 years to sort themselves from top to bottom.
It starts from the top and filters down just like any workplace. Hood might have overseen the financial stability but he needs to be tougher, McNamara gets credit for the junior system. I suppose he deserves a bit of credit but that is then an injustice to the junior coaches and scouts who go and find these players and then develop them ready for first team.
