You are wrong. From the main stand there were almost as many Cas fans on the end terrace as there were Bulls fans at the worryingly sply populated side terrace.
The attendance was clearly announced correctly, and the shortfall was all Bulls fans. Well done to Cas for coming in very decent numbers.

Rubbish. Popular stand was as sp as I have seen it since 1996.
Dreadful Bulls crowd. Decent Cas turnout.

The thing is, though, given what the HOME fans have been served up this year, it's probably more exactly what you'd expect than 'dreadful'. If (for example) we were where we now are, but all the wins had been at home, then the home fans would be a lot happier and be turning out in better numbers. Our home performances have been and continue to be THE worst thing. We couldn't be pis =white[size=9.[/sizesing off the home fans any more if we were doing it deliberately.

Same with us, we have won more away games. Our crowds are well below what we expect nowadays. Bradford should still average around 12,000.

| Back O/T, it's not often Newton has a really poor game and today was one of those rare occasions. Menzies had a bad game against Saints, but I don't see anybody condemning offering him a new contract.

| How the hell was Newton poor?
He never stopped working when he was on the field. Yes he gave the interception up, but don't forget about the two tries he made, the awesome break he backed up and almost scored from. He never stopped talking and trying to fire us up.
No way was he poor, and if more players played like Terry Newton then we would be a lot better of in the league.
It was no coincidence either that the 18 points we conceded after the break were conceded when Newton was off the field and only when he was put back on did we perk up again, unfortunatley it was to little to late, yet again.

I agree. People will focus on the intercept but they shouldn't. Why not blame Sykes who once again was missing in action when Castleford were carving us to pieces.

| Newton was poor.
He threw out a couple of flat passes close to the line but it is about all he offers these days I'm afraid. If we want to get back up the table, we need better than that from our playmakers.

The biggest problem now is that all opposition coaches know how bad Sykes is at defending and are exploiting it constantly.
Time to drop him and put Menzies into the centres. We've got loads of back row players chomping at the bit for a place in the team. Give one of them a chance and let Menzies play right centre. He's 100 times better defender than the useless sack we have there now.
I agree Newton was poor today. But if I had to keep either him or Sykes, I'd keep Terry. At least he can tackle.

| Newton made two errors that cost the match, the telegrahed pass was bad but bombing a try that was harder to miss than score was even worse. However, when he was off the pitch we were awful.
Agree that Sykes is the weakest link at the moment. We had some good games when he wasn't around, and his tackling (lack of) lost the match at Leeds.
By the way, which idiot called for the pass from Halley at the end. Whoever it was should be sacked - stupidest pass of the season and lost us a point.

Can't believe I agree with you! He's obviously going to get remembered today for the one mistake, but against Saints and today, the side seems to lose alot of its direction when Newton goes off the field. Coincedence?

He wasn't on his own today, there were plenty of poor displays from our squad. But he was poor and I have been of the opinion this year that he is probably past his best now. He certainly isn't one of the best hookers in the league anymore.

Ok, but honestly, who could the Bulls possibly recruit that's better than Newton?
Sam Obst? Brad Drew? I don't think so.

Brad Drew is better than Newton imo. The only thing is, he's also older.

Newton wasn't on the field when we conced 4 tries at the start of the 2nd period. That is what cost us the game, not the intercept and not a bombed try.

I wouldn't describe them as improvements to be honest. But obviously it is not always out of contract players who come over from the NRL etc.
Nobody had heard of Hendo but look at the player he was for us. I've heard us linked with Heath L'Estrange, Diskin and Wing. But I'd quite like us to make a move for Chad Randall, I'm sure his old mate Beaver could have a quiet word for us!!
