When I was in Kendal recently I read the local rag. There were 2 reports of serious assaults, both requiring extensive medical assistance. Neither received a custodial sentence. This sort of thing (regretably) is common.

If this case were to be taken as a benchmark for what merits a custodial sentence there would need to be at least a fivefold increase in the number of prisons.

Pryce does have a previous conviction but it was over 5 years ago for Common Assault (may have seemed more serious but was pleaded down from ABH). In criminal justice terms that would be largely considered as "Spent" and wouldnt have had a great deal of influence on today's sentence.

It's 6 years since Reardons one and only good season. I fail to see where people get this idea from that he would be any improvement for our team.

Think it's a clutching at straws thing. Some people think that anything is better than what we have. Personally, unless a very good player comes along, you should stick with your first choices. Whatever youy thoughts on the coach, it is his team and he must see something in them.
