Yes the same bloke who gave St Helens 19 penalties in the same fixture last year and Bradford only 5.
We may aswell just not play and give St Helens the points as Silverwood will give St Helens everything.
I'm, not happy at all.

Well I wouldn't label Silverwood a cheat but I do rate him as the worse ref in SL.

During last year's match he should definitely have given the Bulls a few more penalties. The trouble was he would have been justified in penalising the Bulls at every single PTB given that we were completely unable to to cope with their greater speed. We were lucky not to be down to 11 men for most of the match.

I hope it is just the ref's performance that decides the outcome of the game. A performance like last week and it won't matter who the ref is.

To be honest, when you're turning up to play at Saints with the combined brilliance of Ricki Sheriffe, Michael Platt, Paul Sykes etc I don't think the referee will come into it.

That was my impression too. But for a few refs calls that game would have been much closer.
But surely the 2009 Bulls with their extra fitness training and one of the best packs in the competition will be able to over come these obstacles |

Actually I only saw the last 2 minutes of the first half (nipped into Kendal sports bar inbetween pudding course & coffee), so witnessed nothing controversial & don't even know who the ref was. I was just trying to wind up Mick. |

Difference being, the Leeds try, the ball was clearly touched. The only question was if it went forward or backward.
In 1999, there was no evidence whatsoever to suggest the ball was touched and yet it was still ruled a knock on. And yes, I still abuse the tv every time they show that. |
