| Got to admit I've wondered if were hoping someone will overtake him in try scoring chart so we're not losing our top try scorer when we announce his departure. Think he's done enough to justify a starting SL spot but is unfortunate to be behind Kearney at bulls. Combined with Sykes and platt already under contract as utility backs we may not offer him best deal in that role. Suspect he may go to hull kr or widnes for a starting spot.

| He didn't get picked today because Potter was always likely to go with an unchanged team
Why hasn't he been in all season? Hard to say. But I think he suffers from not really having a main / settled position. What seems to be his best position happens to be where Kearney plays.
You know the phrase 'Jack of all traders, Master of None'?

| If he's not in next week then Potters mad. Realisticaly the play-offs are gone, and there is no benefit to us playing Ah Van or Herbert.
Royston
Raynor
Whitehead
Platt
Crookes
Kearney
Jeffries
Lynch
Diskin
Kopzcak
Elima
Sibbit
Donaldson
O'Brien
Burgess
Scruton
Bateman
That's what I owuld like to see next week. O'Brien and Bateman both had good games in the u20s and Crookes didn't do much wrong before he was dropped. I'd like to see Finigan given at least onw run out before the end of the season too - he looked good in the u20s today.
The seasons over, let some lads play who have pride in the shirt. I know they aren't all ready, and i'm not suggesting they play every game until the end of the season, but they can't do worse than today.

Addy
O'Brien
Scruton

Royston can switch with Kearney before the game but NOT during the game as Royston had a stint at SO in U20's.
Also if needs be, Donno at LF, Addy as bench HK, O'Brien OUT and Bateman as Bench LF/SR.

Wouldn't mind seeing that team either. Koppy deserves to start though imo.

| I know but we need impact off the bench. No good stacking it with kids. My team is the perfect mix of Youth and Exp. Not a worldclass side but solid enough for rest of season imo.

I have to agree with yourself and Ewwenorfolk in that there is no point at all in playing Ah Van and Herbert now we 110% know that they are leaving the club.

O'brien, Bateman and Finigan all looked useful.

| This game against KR is huge in terms of us making the 8, and you want to play southernwood and finnigan? Madness.
By all means bring in Royston and Crookes for Sykes and Ah Van, but let's not get too drastic just yet.
If we lose to Rovers then yes, I see no reason why we can't give some first team experience to some players in the matches against Crusaders and Wakey, but as of right now our season still has some slight glimmer of hope left.

Any coach that threw in the towel now should be shot. Realistically the season is over now, anyone that watched yesterday knows the season is over now, most of the players appear to think that the season is over now, but the coach simply cannot encourage that mentality to take hold.

Er, we shot the playoffs when we lost to Hull. That was end of season. If you just accept that we are out of the playoffs, which we comprehensively are, your life will less stressful.

| Daft as it sounds, we aren't 'out of the play offs', as can be observed by looking a league table
If we win three of our remaining four games, which is not exactly unfeasible as we can beat Hull KR, Crusaders and Wakefield, then we'll be on 24 points. That might just conceivably be enough.
It's unlikely, but against all reasonable sense of what's deserved, we could still make the 8. For that reason alone, you can't expect Mick Potter to come out now and write off the season
Of course, if we lose against HKR then its officially all over

| We'll win them all, you watch - and still miss out because one of the "top" teams will mysteriously lose to Crusaders or Quins last day of the regular season.
Or we'll go to Wakey having just to win to make the 8, and lose.
Nailed on.

| Unfortunately for us, you need to string more than one good performance together to make an impression in the play offs. Perhaps scraping into the play offs might feel like we've made progress. That feeling might not last long though after we're on the ending of a hammering in the 1st round though.
Perhaps Potter will now give a few players a chance to impress for a new deal. If he picks the likes of Ah Van again over Royston/Crookes/Ainscough I will begin to question his judgement to be honest. He wasn't alone missing the tackles, he was in good company on Sunday. But can you say he put in the same effort as Raynor? Not even near and by the looks he was getting off his own teammates yesterday they undoubtedly agree. Good job we have a 2 week break because I am thoroughly p!ssed off after that 'effort' from the team.

| I don't know why he hasn't been picked as I'd have tried any combination that didn't have Marc Herbert and Paul sykes in the team. Maybe the wins at Leeds, the draw at home to Saint told Potter we were progressing and after the win against Giants you could see his point. People will say it's easy with hindsight but enough posters on here have said for months that either Briggs should have stayed at 7 or that Kearney should have gone to stand off with Shad at FB. Briggs got injured and who knows what goes on in training but it feels like a bad call from Potter.

That's basically correct; all the other teams around us lost and we were already too many points behind in the for and against column to make any difference, so other than another game gone, we remain pretty much the same as far as the mathematics are concerned.
Not sure about mentally though. The team looked mentally 'gone' at the HJ, I [idefinitely [/iwas. It's not the maths, it's looking at that performance and asking yourself exactly where we're going to get the points from, and the answer is "I haven't a clue".
I try to be upbeat and positive but it's hard after games like that. I know we'll almost certainly lose any play-off game we get, I mean, we're not going to win the league or anything, and for sure I didn't think we were ever going to win at Warrington but I did expect us to compete in the main, even if Wire ran away with it in the end.
I'd like to see Royston in the team, if only for the change in attitude he would bring. Just where he would fit into the side I don't know, though there would seem to be a spot at hooker going vacant. And yes, I do realise he not the best defender and defence is a major part of the role, he does though have the ability take on the defence, and that was badly lacking on Sunday. Failing that there is a place on the wing, Paddy didn't look very bothered last week and, to be honest, being bothered is probably the very least we are entitled to expect.

People keep saying that but seems a bit harsh to me. Its still 8th plays 5th away isnt it?. 5th could quite conceivably be leeds, who we beat away only a few weeks ago, or hudds. Not saying for a minute that we'll reach playoffs or that we could get ourselves up for a big game but I wouldnt say its 100% certainty we couldnt get an upset in first round. Wouldnt get any further though for certain.
