I've pretty much written it off whether we make the play offs or not. Even if we do sneak in it is hard to see us stringing enough decent performances together to get anywhere anyway to be honest.

crookes is one of your best young players i think he would have been a regular by now if he hadn't got injured.

I wrote this season off a long long time ago.

I'm not sure what the big deal about scraping into the play-offs would be, especially with a team who I think should have been capable challenging for a place in the top five, and who many pundits thought would do even better than that.

Agreed, we were never going to be contenders this year. The thing is I thought and stil do that it won't be for at least another couple of years before I'd expect a rebuilt team based on youth to be even a possible top-4 contender. And we have no divine right to expect that we will be. however disappointing that may be.



Yes we should have been capable of, I'd have thought, a top-6 spot. But the fans and pundits who thought we would be challenging the top 2 or 3 spots were dreaming. That said, the 'on paper' squad has seriously under-achieved so far, on almost anyone's expectations. Both in results and more to the point, many individual and collective nightmares.

Yes, losing the cas game just tipped me over the edge for this one.

We just have too much to do now to reach the playoffs even if we did string some wins together. But I dont see where the improvement will come from to string any wins together and if by some bizarre twist we did make the playoffs I just dont think we could progress as we cant play for 80 mins which is a basic requirement to go anywhere near OT. And anyway, an unlikely playoff run wouldn't make up for some of the excruciating lows we've had this season IMHO.

All I'm hoping for now (and all I realistically have wanted for a while now) is signs of improvement, some encouragement for next season and entertainment each game - and some home wins whilst I'm at it (2 all season???!!) Bring on 2010.

Our home performances have been shocking haven't they. I have definitely enjoyed the away games more this year, even in defeat. I'll head to Craven Park full of hope that we'll see another good away performance, lose on Sun and we'll be lucky to get 7k for Salford, Catalans and Quins.

Thats one of the most disappointing aspects of this season for me. I'd agree that, the Wigan trip apart, following the Bulls away this season has been far better value and entertainment then my season ticket for Odsal has brought me.

So I guess its not hard to see why our floating/pay on the day supporters are drifting away for the moment, and I think we'll get somewhere between 7k and 8.5k for each of the salford, Catalan, and quins games win lose or draw on the weekend, if we get below 7k for each one I bet the club will be very worried!

Written off, yes, in terms of the fact that I don't expect us to win anything or realistically even qualify for the play-offs. But certainly not written off in the sense that there are still plenty of games to go and there may still be plenty to cheer. The off-season lasts a long time and I'm happy that there are still matches to watch. I'm certainly not wishing it was all over. I've no doubt we'll see a few more painful defeats but I'm looking forward to the wins which will no doubt come along as well.

Yes i think our season is over they needs to be big changes to both coaching staff and players for next season

If we'd beaten Castleford I was confident we would have then won most of the games left. Now I think we'll struggle to win half of them. The Team has no confidence in itself, I have no confidence in the Coach and think well do well to finish above 10th. On the back of this I expect to be told how the new in coming players have strengthened the 2010 Squad and we have promising youngsters who will eventually come through (all of them Props and Second Rowers) Carry on where we left off in 2009.......

Because it would be just my luck with the Bulls this season that they would then storm into the playoffs on a 9 match unbeaten run..... hang on

Giving Sykes another 2 years has written off the next two seasons. Roll on 2012.

He's only signed a 1 year deal though.

I will only see this as a good decision if we sign both a new centre and stand-off(if there's one on the market better than Jeffries) and use Sykes as cover for these. And maybe a little for FB if needed.
