BullBuilder, the Bradford Bulls’ Supporters Trust, are proud to announce an Open Day for BullBuilder Members on Sunday 18th December.
Starting at 9:00 AM, the event will be a thank-you to BullBuilder members who have already this year:
- Sent the Academy on a team-building event with the RAF, and used members efforts and contacts to arrange a similar event for the first-team squad.
- Provided training skins for the entire Academy squad.
However, the Open Day will also showcase the biggest contribution yet from BullBuilder, featuring the unveiling of training pitch floodlighting, provided by BullBuilder members! Although the Tong facility is the envy of the Super League, there has been one small limitation for the junior players: a training pitch that was only half floodlit. This does not affect the senior squad, who train during the day, but it has limited the ability of the juniors to play full practice matches during the darker months. Now thanks to BullBuilder’s impressive fund raising, the remaining lights are in place.
BullBuilder members can enjoy a guided tour of the facilities – including the new floodlights – and put questions to the staff.
Please note that this event is open to BullBuilder members only, so please remember to bring your membership card or other proof of membership. However, you can also join on the day by bringing along a completed membership application form and bank details, or the appropriate funds.
Any Bulls supporters who are not yet BullBuilder members can come on board and contribute to future initiatives to benefit the club’s young players. Membership is available for a one-off payment of £10.00 (£5.00 over 60s, £3.00 under 18s), or you can make an even bigger difference by opting to pay a month contribution of £5.00 or more. Could someone from BullBuilder help me. I sent my £5 cheque on 16th June, and heard nothing. Chased someone who said they would look into the matter. My cheque eventually went through my bank on the 8th September. Still heard nothing more. I have no membership card or anything like it to present. So losing the faith a little bit here.

Yep it was good to get inside info on new players, albeit unofficially. Another reward for signing up with Bullbuilder.
They really are good facilities up there. There were some interesting titbits of information to come out. For instance on average only 1 in 8 academy signings make it to 1st team. There's a picture of every one since 1998 on the wall in the main corridor. Getting 8-10 home grown players in the 1st team squad is becoming more and more important.
When signing up young kids the competition is hotter than ever. Most decide on where to go based solely on what they're going to be paid and how the 1st team is doing. Medley said that having good facilities helps and stressed how important it was to show there was a pathway into the 1st team and that they have opportunities to make it. So while we may not always be able to compete in terms of salary and signing on fee we have good facilities, good coaches and a a genuine chance to come through.
It's also not always the clubs you think offering huge money to 16 year olds either. It has been the likes of Warrington etc offering 5 figure sums in the past but Wakefield have thrown there money around since getting a new backer.
Medley also made sure we were aware of how important Bullbuilder is in providing funds for new equipment and for things like training at the RAF. The new floodlights paid for by Bullbuilder have made a huge difference.

It was good to see around and hear about the commitment made by the juniors and their coaches especially.
As Paul Medley said, he's got an infinite list of things he'd like to do with his budget and a little help, with equipment for example, frees up his resources for something else.
Any names on lists however were spelling mistakes or something...

I don't think BullBuilder will be doing another tour of the facility in the near future Mick, can't please everyone with a time and date unfortunately. Not sure if the club have any plans for an open day of their own.
