| Just beat Cronulla in the World Club Challenge at Odsal 22-20.
Amazing game, we had two players in the bin at one point (Platt and Orford) and we're losing 16-6 but against the odds we came back with three tries in ten minutes.
The only problem I find in being Bradford is that I'm constantly getting letters from the RFL saying that Odsal doesn't meet the criteria, hence me getting big fines and the board not being too pleased with me.

Not difficult.
I played one game of the last version and got rid of it.
Good effort, but just doesn't work for me. But then, I'm a lifelong Football Manager addict so I'm used to brilliance. FM makes RLM look mediocre I'm afraid.

I know but at least we get this for free and for that you can't go wrong mate.
How ironic is this, two weeks into the new season and Danny Sculthorpe is out injured for 4 month

True enough. For a free game, you're right, you can't go wrong with it.
I yearn for the day that someone makes an FM quality Rugby League Manager, but I know it will neve happen.
To clarify, I was harsh on RLM. I'm not saying it's awful, I'm saying if you're used to the quality of Footy Manager, you won't like it. If you've never played FM though and quite fancy it, it's well worth a try.

Agree in that a FM type RLM game would be awesome.
So far my results are as follows:
Bradford 22-20 Cronulla
Bradford 24-8 Penrith
Bradford 26-18 Brisbane
Bradford 17-16 Newcastle
Huddersfield 26-10 Bradford
Bradford 28-12 St Helens
Bradford 28-6 Castleford
Salford 31-18 Bradford (Had two players sent off, bent robbing referee)
Bradford 26-22 Wigan
Just the two losses so far to Hudds and Salford.
I'm trying to sign Pryce from St Helens but he won't come

Not yet but it's out December time. But the new features suggest it'll be better than ever.
I'm on RLM2010 at the moment trying to win the Grand Final after I lost to Hull FC 32-6 last time I played in the summer.

It's a great game to pass a few hours on and as Dilligaf has posted, don't be expecting the quality of the Footy Manager series managment sims.

Imagine my shock horror on finding out that my impatient friend couldn't wait any longer and had this imported.
After playing for a good two hours this morning . . . . . . . .
WOW this is amazing.
Everything from the enhanced player likeness to crowd chants (unfortunately I've yet to play at Knowsley Road so can't confirm if the crowd shouts forward or calls there referee a ******* ).
The main notable improvement is that the kicking game has improved tenfold, with the added variety of kicking options that give you, and also your opponents that killer edge and for the Stevo fans Rugby League Live does have the chip kick option which when used works beautifully (a little chip over the defensive line and the regather to score).
The AI is the other notable improvement in that by playing games on the medium and hard settings you really do feel that your team is in a arm wrestle to get the points.
In the easy mode you'll still struggle to find those gaps but I would advise anyone when they finally get hold of this amazing game to start off at medium and learn the hard way, make your players work had to create those gaps for the break through.
The AI controlled opposition really does make life hard for you when trying to get out of your own half and when attacking the try line adding to the realistic experience of playing this game.
The video referee has improved beyond recognition, with it making frequent appearances than the previous games and now checking for on-side kicks and those all important groundings of which there are at least seven different types of grounding for tries (in the previous games we just had two for the video referee calls).
There is much more to add but I'll need to play for longer than I have done.
I've yet to try out the online play as my mate isn't hooked up, but I hope that come the end of November if we get enough people we can start a TRL season of sorts.
I would love to play Kenny a game on this, him being Castleford, myself Bradford
So then out of ten this gets twenty because it surpasses the previous four games by offering IMO the ultimate realistic Rugby League experience.
Now cue the usual rabble saying it's awful and no improvement on the previous one

mick it is an improvement on the previous ps2 and xbox versions. but its a step down on the Wii version that came out in the summer. They've changed the developer from the one that did the earlier versions and a lot of features that appeared in the Wii version have been stripped out/not implemented in the 360/ps3 version. Plus a lot of the lower division teams arent in it anymore.

Yes while the game play is better then anything we've seen before the let down is the poor franchise options and as you say there is teams missing from Championship 1, Championship etc etc.
After playing both Rugby League Live gets the nod over Rugby League 3.
Rugby League 4 should implement the good ideas from both IMO.

Cheers mate nice review. Im glad the gameplay is improved rather than just updating the teams, there was nothing more frustrating than your winger colecting the ball after a kick and randomly runnning into touch.

Will be playing some more tomorrow so I'll add a few bits but from the first play it has improved ten fold, even if some of the games features like the franchise mode have suffered.
