Prior to kick off we have two games on a Thunder U19 game and the League Cup Final

Unfortunately I can't make it but I can recommend the trip to others. I really like the setup at Thunder.

Well it gives our boys an extra week to recover. The likes of Lilley will be good as will Fleming and Evans providing they only got knocks. Gives Brough and Dawson-Jones another week. Hopefully Jowitt isn’t far off either so another week will do him some good too.

Meanwhile Newcastle have a tough away game against Fax this weekend.

Fleming is injured for next 2 week and Jowitt was ready this week

It must be getting close to the time Elliot Kear will be available after his firefighter training.

Is the game available to watch on Our League or has all that ended now?

I think most of that has finished, although London and Toulouse were on as a free game last weekend.

It says its scheduled as a free game on the oureague website but haven't found a mention of it anywhere else to say they're showing it.

Yes your right, I've just gone and had a nosy on ourleague.

Our league has returned to its pre covid levels of broadcast.

Couple of games per week (max) free of charge.

Think this just highlights of how amateurish our game is lead at the moment. Its not been communicated or advertised in any way shape or form that this is available on ourleague. I only found it on the site by accident and even then wasn't sure if it was actually on.

Games a mess.

That's why I mentioned it in the first place. I saw it on the site as a live game but could not buy a pass. Poor communication by the club.

Do you not think this could be a request by Newcastle to get more fans attending the game?. They seem to be pushing the game on social media but haven't mentioned the streaming.

Yeah I agree with you, i get why Newcastle wouldn't advertise the ourleague as they concentrate on tickets, but surely the RFL could advertise it to all the neutral fans who have no intention of going.

To be honest, I think the flaw in that is pretty clear. How, in the age of the internet do you advertise to neutral fans but not let Newcastle and Bradford fans in on the little secret? I mean, what are we doing, right now?

I would like to see Sanderson given a spot on the right wing now he is fit.

I mean in defence of Newcastle, why would they advertise free streaming when clearly paying punters in the ground would suit.

And in defence of Bradford what do they get out of a free stream? 0.

Maybe the RFL should be promoting it seen as though it’s their platform and it’s their decision not the clubs?

I got an email from the RFL today promoting the stream.
I get why Bulls and Newcastle didn't promote the game.
Bulls will get a percentage of ticket sales and Newcastle will sell more tickets.

If you’re the sort of person who is dedicated and motivated enough to consider travelling to Newcastle, I highly doubt knowledge of the free stream is going to put you off attending.

The clubs also surely have a commitment to sponsors to ensure maximum exposure which I suspect will be far greater on the stream than those in the ground. The sport is just crap at marketing itself and when it does it often feels like a half hearted after thought.

Agree. In general as a sport we decide ‘we can’t waste our limited resources, it’s someone else’s job to promote the game not ours’.

100%. Id never not go to a game just because it was on tv or available to stream.

On the game itself, expecting a tough afternoon. Newcastle pushed Halifax all the way last week. Be tricky for us on the 3g pitch. Hopefully the week off will have done us good though.
