On a more positive note Hood mentioned in his programme notes that recruitment and retention was in advanced stages for next year. I got the impression that we had signings/resigning in the bag and were just biding our time before making announcements.

The most high profile 6/7 who spring to mind who can kick goals too are Lockyer and Orford. However both are knocking on a bit and would surely command a huge wage.

Would also like to see us sign a centre or wing with some quality. We have nobody out there who can create something out of nothing and get us out of trouble. In the past we've always had someone like that, a Newlove, a Vainikolo, even Phil Ford.

If we get a quality halfback we could do with a some cutting edge.

Looking at the academy we have some good forwards coming through so the emphasis needs to be on the backs.

Which may dampen Deacon's spirits and make him play even worse ( if that's possible) because he will then know hes on his way to the championship.

A quality, consistant half back with some threat is the only priority for me next year. Without improvement there it wont matter who else we sign/resign.

I suppose so, if he continues to play that badly then i'd just drop him down to reserves permanently.
