You can start to see the advantages just from looking at that squad

1. The chance for people who have been injured to get game time (Oakes, Kirk)

2. The opportunity for fringe players not currently in the 17 to get a game (Davies, Rickett, Goodall, Hodgson)

3. More chance to assess trialists (Andrade, Burnett, King)

4. A chance for young lads to play against men rather than boys ( the rest of the squad)

It does make you wonder why all teams don't run reserves

Is that definitely Ross Oakes? I was hoping he'd be in the 19 for Sunday...

If he's in the plans for Saturday he might just be getting a half to prove himself fit?

I'm going to be there anyway. Hopefully be a good performance from the lads and be nice to visit my old amateur club too.

Damn, I was hoping Johnson would be back.

Think Oakes is suffering from having a slow start to the season in the friendlies. Also with Lee Smith being made captain and seemingly assured of a place he's even less chance of getting in unless Smith or Gibson get injured. Even then it seems Liam Johnson is ahead of him (when fit).

I'm sure I saw an interview with Kear where he said Halafihi and Johnson were both fit.

We've had a good history with talented brothers playing together for us. Henry & Robbie. The Burgess's. Reckon the Butterworths could be the next set!

To be fair looking at the team sheets beforehand if we hadn't have battered them there would be something wrong. Thought the lads played well and had some great rugby on show. Always was going to dominate in the pack but thought the outside backs were good. Was it Milnes in the second half on the left who threw two dummies and scored from 50m out?

So did I. We now have live coverage of most Bulls matches at all levels; interviews with players,coaches etc at frequent intervals. Mick is doing a tremendous job publicising our Club. But he still gets stick.

He doesn't get stick for his commentary or any other work he does for the club. He's had stick in the past for his tendency to believe anything he hears and then repeat them as fact on here and social media.

I've still not forgiven him for making me think we'd re-signed Curtis Naughton a few years ago

I saw a comment on TRL forums after the York match had been broadcast on Facebook. Someone who'd not heard Mick's commentary before described him as 'brilliant' and suggested him to replace Eddie Hemmings on Sky

He'd need to develop a great love for St Helens to get that gig..

I have little/no knowledge of the social media stuff which personally I stay well away from but as a commentator I'd rather listen to Mick than the Sky commentators 7 days a week and twice on a Sunday (no I'm not him or related, or being paid!).
