If HMRC have submitted a winding up petition then they will play hardball. Unless Fax can come up with the money the current regime is all done. We've been there ourselves. When this keeps happening it's better to call it quits and take the points deduction and start again rather than chuck money and goodwill into a black hole.
Doesn't sound good. The sport can't afford to lose a club like Fax.
HMRC aren't someone you ever win against (as we know) and two wind-up petitions from them usually ends one way. Particularly as this one seems to have completely caught them he surprise.
Just hope the club keeps going in some guise. If this is really a 2nd WUP then it's probably best to go into admin rather than chuck money into a black hole. They'll get a 12 point deduction and potentially lose a lot of players but it'd be a fresh start hopefully with a new owner that knows what they're doing. With luck they won't get a succession of buffoons running the club like we did. The Championship needs Halifax. It's our biggest derby.
