At least we got that feel good factor during his first season and he also masterminded that incredible Cup performance against Leeds. Things went south very quickly at Widnes for JK.
He's an important figure in the history of the sport, with some wonderful unexpected results over the years. But time marches on, and it looks like his ability to turn things around when it's going south just isn't there. Definitely time to focus on the telly work and retire from coaching.
To be fair to Kear, I think Widnes's problems are far more deep rooted than just the head coach. 3 players have left during the season, none have been replaced. Since been relegated, they've gone into admin, lost their Academy and not made the play-offs once. Looks very bleak over there.
