Danny Sculthorpe's lawyers have this morning announced he's getting a payout from Bradford Bulls, however it's not the current Bradford Bulls but instead the version of the club that was run by Peter Hood. Sculthorpe himself has commented that it's not the current Bulls but instead the insurance company of the now defunct holding company that are doing the payout but the Bulls are unhappy with the press-release from Sculthorpe's lawyers making it sound like the current club have been forced to pay out

| Courting controversy perhaps, hoping to have some imagined impact I suppose. Its a private matter no big deal as far as the club is concerned.

| The situation with DS is one that is open to interpretaion, on the one hand he berates the old regime at the Bulls, which included the current coach Steve Mc Namara, England Coach. I should think that those coaches and conditioners at the club at that time may have something to say about it?
If I remember rightly he had a successful operation that became infected due to his Diabetes, and he was in Hospital for a few weeks, with some doubt about him ever playing again?
The strange thing is that Diabetes is not mentioned in the article?
I have looked up some of the detail surrounding his time at Wakefield where he calls John Kears coaching ability as one of the reasons he left Wakefield after 3 years! Whereas in a previous interview:
Quote Re Wakefield:
“I didn’t enjoy my time there,” said Sculthorpe.
“I just think it’s because of the way John Kear is. He’s an ex-school teacher and that’s the way he treats the players.
“There’s no fun at all. It’s his way or no way and he doesn’t listen to what the players have to say.
"Steve Mac's not like that. He knows when to have a laugh but he knows when it's time for the serious work.
Sculthorpe feels he was hung out to dry by his former boss – ushered out of the club in May after an incident when he and Danny Brough broke an alcohol ban on the team bus after a game at Harlequins.
But a loan move to Huddersfield Giants proved to be just what was needed, the Leeds academy product rediscovering his form and enjoyment for the game at the tail-end of last season.
The option had been there to remain at the Galpharm but a gut feeling told Sculthorpe to head to Bradford.
He said: “I’m really enjoying it here so far.
“I don’t feel like I’ve got something to prove as such. I had a really good second half to last season with Huddersfield and got myself really fit, so I’ll just look to continue where I left off.
A Previous interview: Quote
but I’ve only missed two out of 19 this year and I’m really enjoying myself especially with the freedom that John allows me to play with.
What’s your contract situation?
I’ve got another 18 months and I’m enjoying it here. We’ve got a great set of lads and, you never know, I might not be the only Sculthorpe here next year…
Really?
Stranger things have happened! Paul comes off contract at the end of the year and Wakefield are really keen to get him over. John’s always asking me what Paul’s thinking and Paul loves the way Wakefield play. I think he could be at Wakefield next year. Paul’s always wanted us to play together before we retire and next year could be the one.
Perhaps he should have taken the compensation, and said nothing: Not sure Steve Mac will be happy??
