Unless we signed him 3 yrs in advance can't see how that would have helped. He'd have had to play 3 yrs in our academy before he turned 21 to qualify as fed trained on that basis. A month or two delay in announcing signing won't have made any difference. Doesn't really matter why he's got a dispensation, apart from satisfying our curiosity. At least we know that we're ok under rules with signings as they stand and it puts speculation to bed.
