Around 30 members were present as BullBuilder held its annual general meeting last Wednesday. Along with the usual administrative business, the Society told the tale of a traumatic year for the Bulls, in which several BullBuilder initiatives had contributed to the successful efforts to save the Club, culminating in Omar Khan’s takeover. Most important among these initiatives, and greatly applauded by those attending the meeting, had been the Hardship Fund, through which BullBuilder channelled almost £29,000 in contributions from well-wishers throughout the game to support staff who had been made redundant and to enable the Bulls to complete their season’s fixtures.
However, Chairman Chris Hardstaff’s address also made it clear that the salvation of the club had led to some uncertainty about the future role of BullBuilder.
The Club’s dynamic new ownership has established much greater levels of engagement with supporters, holding monthly fans forums, hosting events similar to those that BullBuilder held in the past, undertaking many other initiatives and attempting to raise more money through the Bulls lottery as the principal vehicle for funding the academy and junior development. The overlap with BullBuilder’s core activities had led some to question whether BullBuilder still had a contribution to make. However, the opinion of the meeting was that BullBuilder’s achievements and good will were too valuable to lose.
With several Committee members stepping down for personal and professional reason, some new people expressed an interest in joining the Board and taking BullBuilder in exciting new directions.
However, to ensure the most effective BullBuilder, we need still more people to step forward. We will be holding a meeting with any interested parties on Thursday 7 February. If you would also be interested in joining the Board, please send an Email to
info@bullbuilder.co.uk and we will get back to you with details.
