I was against. Having seen it though I don't think I can offer a verdict until Christmas next year when it's had a full spring, summer and early autumn. I like the space, I like the fountains, and I have stopped and lingered several times walking past on my way up to work and home again.
It's been built for events as much as for the fountains. The article doesn't really make that clear, and all the comments on there are about it being a space with water and fountains. I want to see how a full year's programme of those events pan out first because it's those that will bring people into the city centre.

Given the two stadiums we have and the massive uproar that would have ensued had this windfall money been spent on minority interests I'd have to agree with you there, despite my self-interests and concern for the club.
