| It is now obvious to all that Potter has lost the plot . This is not surprising, taking into account his past record. 1. Only did reasonably well ar Catalans, as the RL gave them special dispensation to field as many non French as they wished, and they had the best scrum half in RL at that time in Stacey Jones (think Orford then 3 times better|). 2. Did nothing at St Helens despite having one of the best squads in the league. Coaches today must have good motivation skills, look what John Kear has done at Wakefield given the paucity of their present squad. It seems to me Mr Potter has no personality or drive and no idea on game plans.
Further I would question his recruitment. 11 new players. 1. Herbert, not good enough for the NRL and farmed out to junior rugby.2.Walker, too much of a risk after breaking his leg, now only a fraction of the player he was at Leeds. 3.Rayner, now past his best.4. Diskin, disappointing, he would be now on this showing the number 3 choice hooker at Leeds. 5.Royston, perhaps at 28 a leap to far from the Championship. 6.Hargreaves, still young enough to improve but not a world beater. 7. Sibbitt, not good enough for Salford, so why good enough for the Bulls? 8. Ainscough, ditto Wigan. 9. Elima, maybe just past his best. 10. Ah Van, pedestrian. 11, Briggs
, looked good for Featherstone and may in time form a good partnership with Southerwood.
My choice to replace Potter, would be controversial, but why not Ian Millward. Good at St Helens and has now transformed Leigh into the best team in the Championship.
Short term solution, bring in a good motivation coach and forget about Willie Mason. He was poor after the first match.

| This is a bit of a bizarre thread.
I think the team is underachieving. At the beginning of the season the general concensus on this forum seemed to be that the squad was better in quality than last seasons. Those same players have proven to be less than inspiring for whatever reason on the pitch.
You have to wonder whether they're suffering from the same 'issue' that Macca kept blaming last year - they're looking good during training but this isn't being transfered onto the pitch on game day. If so I can fully understand why Potter looks p*ssed off during the game (or it could be that he's wishing he'd decided to stick to his guns and go back to Aus!)
I'm not sure now's the time for knee jerk reactions. This was always going to be a transitional season - I'd like to say that it's simply a case of evolution rather that revolution but I'm afraid that even that looks debatable at the moment, but I think we have to allow a certain amount of leeway.

| Quote ="Maccbull_BigBullyBooaza"Well I suppose we have signed a player that was at the club when we "just" missed out on the playoffs after a decent winning run who was then let go before the club missed out on the playoffs by a mile after a massive losing run.
So that would be an improvement.'"
I've always believed that it's better to have two good halves who complement each other than two outstanding individuals who don't, so if MP thinks his 'new' signing makes a better fit in the squad then I'm happy to go along with his view. If I'm honest, much as I would never want to deny freedom of speech to anyone, threads like this are so surreal they "do my 'ed in"
