This sounds a bit silly! BUT rather than spending all that money trying to get students to leeds metro uni' by sponsoring things .. why couldnt they plow more money into providing better facilities and coaches? And then build up the reputation that way?
Don't disagree with local uni's/colleges sponsoring clubs but it has to be for the benefit of the students or local community ..
You also appear to be attempting to disregard [iMjM's Law[/i, whereby, at any point in time, assessing the historical potency of a particular event is positively affected by that event's proximity to the present day on an exponential scale. Hence once can clearly say that Leeds are the greatest team in the history of Rugby League, for the cumulative impact on the sports loving public's psyche of their triple title wins is quite mind blowing, the 2009 title having double the impact of their 2008 title which in turn is double that of their 2007 title.
Bradford's laughably distant triumph in 2005 has minimal historical resonance and I calculate that even allowing the Bulls to keep their non-title from 1997 that Leeds have been 21.65 times greater than Bradford in the Super League era and, undisputedly, looking back from today at the great history of our game, in fact the greatest club to have played the game ever.
