A Loiner legend. One of the club's greatest players. He'll be sadly missed.

A great player. There was a running joke in Peter Fox's day (an earlier, more benign, version of the Caisley / Hetherington rivalry) where rumours would circulate that Leeds had made a bid for Keith Mumby, and Fox would appear on Radio Leeds to alledge that in fact it was Bradford bidding for John Holmes. I don't think there was ever the slightest truth, but it shows the regard Fox held him in - which is good enough for me.

Fabulous player, one of the true greats. RIP John. Condolences to his family.

Before my time but responsible for some great tries on the classic 101 VHS if I recall correctly. RIP.

When you think of players from certain teams from twenty odd years ago and more most RL followers will always remember names like Les Dyl, Sid Hynes, John Atkinson and John Holmes connected to Leeds Rl.
That says everything about the guy and his quality.
