Indeed. I used to use it occationaly, but only for first try scorer, and like you say the odds were terrible. I now place any bets I fancy online before I go to the game.

For the OP as far as i know the betting hut was not run by a high street bookie at Odsal, but it always seemed to do steady if not huge business - would have been more I reckon had the odds not been so terrible. I also wouldn't be interested in leaving the terrace to place a bet in play, maybe at half time but even thats probably unlikely once I'm at the ground and the games started TBH.

If there is a pob inside the ground then I will always pick a player from each team for 1st try scorer.

We asked for betting at Odsal a few years ago and they gave us betting. The company who did it got greedy though and you started to get really stupid odds. Top scorers were often around 3/1 or 4/1 to score the first try - with 34 potential first try scorers that really is taking the mick!

People who liked a flutter before the game now either visit bookies down the road (opposite the red lion) or they do it online.

If you want to bet on such things then there really isn't a better way than to have a Betfair account, and have Betfair on your mobile.

Don't use Betfair too often now, not enough betting options for RL matches. Bet365 is pretty decent.
