Can someone explain this kid's lack of progress since breaking into first team? I remember watching him with interest skittling opponents for fun in those first few games. It was obvious he had all the necessary attributes - size, speed, awareness etc. Certainly, I thought we had a potential GB star.

Since he's established himself he's broadened out significantly (as kids do when they hit 21/22). I remember thinking he wouldn't look out of place in the WWE.

But beyond the added bulk I've witnessed no significant improvement. Indeed, he looked a better rugby player when he was struggling to break into the team.

What's the story?

Personally I think he'd be best suited to a Brian McDermott style cornerstone prop forward position. Alternatively he's not looked too bad distribution wise at dummy half - if he lost a couple of stone of bulk he may be a pretty decent hooker.
