Went off after 50 minutes according to League Express report.

I don't think he was injured and he seemed to have had a decent first game back. He got a 7 for his part in the game when most of the others got 6.

One more and the kids done. On his 8th life already now.

Some people just arnt made for contact sports.

What is wrong with some of you...? Wheeler has had bad luck with injuries over the past few years but comments such as "waste of time, get rid of him..." hardly help the poor lad with his confidence. He's strong and quick and we should be encouraging him, not trying to destroy him. Unfortunately, so many of the comments on here are negative and I frequently ask myself why I bother to visit the site. "Saddened" in particular should come out from under his bridge and jump in the bl**dy river.

Your right. Saints should try and register as a charity too............

This is modern professional sport with a salary cap. Wheeler unfortunately can't get fit but is taking a salary regardless.

I feel sorry for him. Genuinely.

However, you can be as strong and fit as you like in the gym, or on the training field. But if you can't carry those attributes out onto a playing field, then you're no more use to the squad than a weak, slow armchair player like myself.

Life isn't fair, and Wheeler has been unlucky. But we can't afford, as a club, to carry on paying for his bad luck through the gap he fills on the salary cap. If he's injured again, then he really needs to find an alternative career, and maybe play his rugby at an amateur level where his body can take the impacts.

I lasted longer than most, keeping faith that one day he'll get past his injury problems, but even I've given up over the last year.

Half of it was the fear that if we released him, he'd end up a star for someone else.

To be honest, I think I'd rather see that now than continue along the path of repetetive dissapointment that we have right now.

Give him to Wakey, I say. See if they can do anything with him. If they don't, we're right. If they do, well, we can take a little solice in the fact that one of our youngsters finally managed to get it together.

There are stories about the Bath medical team being amazed at how badly Eastmond's injuries had been looked after. I do sometime wonder whether that part of our set up is not up to scratch?

And if the reports of him geting injured are bollox?

Then we'll continue to hope this time is the injury free run he needs. Fingers crossed.

In Eastmond's case, he only got injured when we were getting beat.

Bath should worry about that part of his game.

Or when he'd decided to 'save himself' for union. He made Perry look interested at times.

He had so much potential as a Half-Back, but injuries seem to have taken that away to some extent. I remember him scoring a try away at Wakefield (I think) where he took the ball 15 metres out, side stepped three men, and scored beside the posts. When he has played, I don't see that spark that he had back then, and that's down to injuries. I genuinely feel for him, and I can imagine how tough it must have been. He's worked so hard to get himself back out onto the field, and within weeks of his return, he ends up picking himself up again, and going through the same old script. Not easy.

He's a local lad who had great potential, but their is only so much time the club can give him. Pains me to say it, but I'm not sure how many chances he's got left.

People moaning that fans lost patience with wheeler is silly really. He's been given chance after chance and although it isn't his fault, the club can't keep using its money to pay him to sit in the stands and pay for his medical bills.

Its just a shame its not worked out with Gaz. Sometimes a change of club can turn a players luck so IMO wheeler going could be best for both club and the player.

He wasnt taken off injured at all,he just didnt play the full game as it was his first game back.

I have spoke to a contact at Hornets and lets just say its not an injury and not an insult to Hornets 50 minutes was enough and the lad was a bit shot, which in fairness is not unusual for a comeback game.

He's not injured...

This is probably his second best period of non-injuredness since he got into the first team squad. If what is rumoured is true, he could have been un-injured for nearly a week. I don't know why some of you bag him so much.
