Surely by the end of the pre-match warm-up ? There's some risky stretches in there for a man with a body made out of fine china.

It will be interesting what he does with wheeler. I think he's off contract at the end of the year so Gaz will be looking to prove himself.
From all our current players, I feel Gary Wheeler is the most suited halfback to play alongside Walsh next year but I doubt we will risk giving him a new deal. Walsh is a play maker who doesn't take the line on and Gary Wheeler is a runner with great feet.
Just a Pitty Gaz will break down again.

Imagine if the day come when Wheeler just stops getting injuries! Playing week after week after week and pinning down a shirt as his own - maybe even showing the sort of form we reckon he's capable of and pushing for international honours!
If only. I give him two weeks, max.
If stories are true about him not being the best profressional, then that's very dissapointing given how many chances we give him.

I think he's got another year after this one. But he's got to be one more injury away from missing out on a future at Saints. A real shame.

Perhaps its our negetive vibes? Perhaps the fact that we, as a collective, expect him to get injured, that's what happens.
Everyone, quickly, send Wheels your good vibrations!

| I think Wheeler should be our 6 next year, assuming he's fit, which is a lot to ask. Him and Walsh will be a good pairing IMO.

| Wheeler has done nothing to suggest he'll ever command a regular starting place.
He's another we should just release this year.

I'd love to see that, players playing in there natural positions, 2 halfbacks on the field at the same time and some genuine pace in there too. With Roby back at 9 there can be no more excuses

With RObes back our forwards improved no-end. The forward performance against Hudds would easily beat Salford and given their current form, Bradford.

| Quote ="St pete"For people getting on Browns back, what would you do with this current squad?
(I'm not saying he's not to blame for some things this year but the squad is awful)'"
I dont think I am getting on Browns back but there are things that I thought he would and could do that would enable us to actually compete with a weakened side.
the first area for me is the complete lack of defensive structure. At Hudds he got something of a reputation for introducing 3 and 4 man tackles that allowed the defenders more time to get off and slow the play the ball down. I really thought he would introduce that here. It looked at one point like he had (I think it was Widnes away) but I havent seen it since. If we slow down the opposition we have an easier job defending the next play - its just a process. He also needs to work with individuals to get them to number up correctly - this season there have been shocking displays of this - if you dont number up it then leaves either big gaps either side of the centres or 3 people running at the winger - there are some on here who want to blame the winger for this when the real culprit is somewhere else in the line.
So you have sorted out the defence. Next thing is giving field position too easily. So work out why we are giving penalties (quite likely because we are being stretched defensively) and reduce those and work out clear simple strategies for getting out of your own half. So we cut down on giving the opposition cheap posession in our half.
Honestly that would be enough to have seen us win a number of the games we have lost closely - its not good enough to win us any trophies but is a platform that we can start to build attack on.
Really I think that is coaching 101 and I cannot understand why it hasnt been done.
the rest of the crap he does with constantly tinkering with positions isnt helping us one bit - but i could live with that right now if he could reduce how easy it is at times for the opposition to get to our line and score.

I think in part it's the tinkering which is causing problems in both attack and defence. Players can't do either to the best of their capabilities if their inside/outside partners change almost every week.

Can't believe you are blaming Brown for this season, if I remember rightly he got us over performing at Huddersfield with a mediocre side.
Mmmmmm looks like a few have changed their opinions and realising the Giants fans do talk sense after all

| I think it goes beyond Brown this season, in theory we have decent side if they all perform to there capabilities with the exception of the absence of a 7.
But when you have all your pivotal players 1,6,7,9 and 13 missing most part of the season with no one of required leadership quality any side will suffer.
I would like to know what our conditioner is doing because we are so unfit and lethargic in almost every game, I would like to know what KC does to benefit the team, his will to win attitude hasn,t rubbed off on any players.
It seems the moment the team set foot in Langtree Park they have gone soft centred, Knowsley Road was one of toughest place to go to for the away side, Langtree Park is one of the easiest for the opposition.
Brown has tinkered and baffled us at times with our No 6 , but with Roby, Lomax and Wheeler soon to return, Brown will have the benefit of a settled side. I would hope so anyway.

| Tinkerman couldn't help himself againt today. obviously starting with a reasonable team with players playing in positions they were pretty comfortable in and the fact we were cruising obviously meant Brown couldnt resist attempting to =#FF0000get around the filter
He's starting to annoy me know with his meaningless messing around, what we need is a bit of stability and to build some confidence so we can take performances like the first half today into whats left of the season. With the rub of the green and a bit more confidence and composure we'd have been out of sight by half time.

I completely agree with this. Brown was idiotic today and he could have lost us a game which based upon the performance in the first half (knock ons excepting) we should have won without too much stress. Instead, he undermines our chances. Thankfully, Robes came back on to save Brown's bacon.

Or Brown saw the issue and put Roby back on? Not sure Roby decided to bring himself back on.

We looked back to our old crap selves again when robes went off but IMO it was the messing about of lomax, wello, jones that disrupted the team.
I can understand giving robes a rest but moving the others about was just stupid and could have cost us the game.

Same difference. Brown created the problem in the first place. He threw Robes back on again to rescue it.
Brown is idiotic in this respect and he constantly undermines our chances by messing up the team needlessly.

Personally, I believe it is Brown's messing around with the line ups which have resulted in some of our losses rather than our injuries. While there is justification for tweaks now and again depending on conditions and/or opposition, the scale of his changes, and to make them at halftime in a game we desperately need to win, has had significant impact on our ability to perform.

It does seem Brown is finally weeding out some of the problems, he needs to stop messing though. Rumour on Redvee is Perry has come to agreement and been released and Hohaia wont be far behind him. Cant see hiho leaving till seasons done though

Maybe we are trying to bring two overseas players in this year. I believe the panthers have salary cap issues
