Why are so many people convinced that the Bulls and Cats can or will pay more than us?

Because we don't like paying big wages. We like doing things on the cheap. If we can get a young untried kid in to replace Leon then we will.

It might not be all about money though for Pryce. His quotes suggest he is happy at Saints and wants to get back to his normal game. Not sure if Bradford would be move for short term success and Catalans might sound attractive but does he want all that travel towards the end of his career.
He has already mentioned he would play in any position for saints as long he is in the team. For me he still offers more than the releasing of Longy's, Gilmore, Cunningham etc.
At the end of the day it might depend on his medical condition and the chairmanship short term to long term plan, if Lance fails in his first year (perry) and we don,t keep Pryce, then 2012 could be deja vu 2011. Tough call.

If we want to win trophies, we need him. IMO Lance isn't good enough to quite fill his boots.

I agree, losing Pryce would be the biggest loss for me (bigger than Graham and Kyle). Lomax, Lance and Pryce is a quality trio and would give us strong options in midfield as our pivots.

Leon's money is still there he will be on a big contract, if not the biggest at Saints, if Bradford or Cats can better that, then he will be pulling down one of if not the biggest wages in SL. I'm sure if we had offered Pryce TP's money to boost his contract and lose TP to warrington. TO secure him when he was still injured we would have all called the board stupid for losing TP.

Sounds like both Pryce and the club have organised a time for contract talks once he is fit. So lets give it a few weeks once he's had a run of games and then start making up stories about Saints signing some replacement from the academy.

I'd like to see us keep Pryce. Especially if his wage wouldn't be spent on another first teamer.

You are right with that rule, but how many players moving have been announced so far and we are only in July, it is a joke! also leaving the licence announcement to a week today at Old Trafford has been another joke.

But at the Ladies Night Meli said that Scott Moore wears multi coloured underpants (based on his Facebook page I believe) so it's perhaps not always a good idea to take Meli seriously.

And we now know from press reports that he wears grey.

The more I look at our pack for 2012 the more I like it. Adding Leon for next year would complete the squad IMO. We would have depth in the backs for the first time in ages.

I'm sure all Saints fans would like to see Leon resign, but the board have matters of money and value for money to think of and 25 minutes in a season is not enough to secure a new contract.

So it makes sense that Saints are holding out to see that it's a full return. Just as it makes sense for Pryce to look whats on offer rather than back himself into a Saints or nothing corner, just to possibly be left with nothing.

Even though we only have two props in lms and perry? Neither of whom have yet to set the world alight in the red vee. Although I would hate to see Leon leave, I do think we need another prop to compete, so when we are overrun with good but brittle halfbacks, he may have to be sacrificed to balance the squad

TP is quite clearly a prop and has been playing like one all season.
